Garment including Shorts with a Detachable, Reversible Skirt

Abstract

A garment includes features of a pair of shorts and a skirt. An exemplary embodiment includes a pair of compression shorts including a waistband, legs, and a gusseted crotch made of a moisture-wicking fabric. The waistband may include a drawstring for adjustable fit, and a zippered pocket. Each of the legs of the shorts has an anti-ride-up feature disposed respectively near the inside bottom of the legs. Each of the legs includes, respectively, at least two outside pockets that lie flat against the legs when empty. A skirt is attachable and detachable by an attachment means to the waistband of the shorts. The skirt has an inner and outer side with either side being attachable via the attachment means to the waistband of the shorts to be the outside of the skirt. The skirt may have a selective shortening feature for shortening at least a part of the skirt.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A garment including features of a pair of shorts and a skirt, comprising:
 a pair of compression shorts including a waistband, legs, and a gusseted crotch made of a moisture-wicking fabric;   the waistband of the shorts including a drawstring for adjustable fit of the waistband, and the waistband including a zippered pocket;   each of the legs of the shorts having an anti-ride-up feature disposed respectively near the inside bottom of the legs, and each of the legs including, respectively, at least two outside pockets that lie flat against the legs when empty; and   a skirt releasably attachable and detachable by an attachment means to the waistband of the shorts,   the skirt including multiple panels with at least two panels being made of mesh fabric,   the skirt having an inner side and an outer side with either the inner side or the outer side being attachable via the attachment means to the waistband of the shorts to be the outside of the skirt,   the skirt being reversible front to back and back to front via the attachment means to the waistband of the shorts, and   the skirt having at least a selective shortening feature for shortening at least a part of the skirt.   
     
     
         2 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the skirt is attachable via the attachment means to the waistband of the shorts while the shorts are being worn. 
     
     
         3 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the skirt is detachable via the attachment means from the waistband of the shorts while the shorts are being worn. 
     
     
         4 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment means comprises a zipper. 
     
     
         5 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment means comprises snaps. 
     
     
         6 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment means comprises magnets. 
     
     
         7 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment means comprises a hook-and-loop mechanism. 
     
     
         8 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the anti-ride-up feature comprises a gripping feature. 
     
     
         9 . The garment of  claim 1 , wherein the anti-ride-up feature is disposed around the entire periphery of the inside bottom of the legs. 
     
     
         10 . A skort, comprising:
 a pair of shorts having a waistband; and   a skirt releasably attachable to the waistband of the shorts by an attachment means.   
     
     
         11 . The skort of  claim 10 , wherein the skirt comprises an inside and an outside; and
 wherein the inside of the skirt is reversible with the outside of the skirt when the skirt is attached to the waistband of the shorts.   
     
     
         12 . The skort of  claim 10 , wherein the attachment comprises a plurality of magnets with half of the plurality of magnets disposed on the waistband of the shorts and the other half of the plurality of magnets disposed on the skirt.
