Abstract
A beverage container has a body with a chamber that receives and holds a liquid. The container has circuitry that wirelessly communicates with an electronic device (e.g., smartphone) to receive data corresponding to an amount of a currency. The circuitry also wirelessly communicates with an electronic device (e.g., point of sale reader) to transmit data corresponding to an amount of a currency to make a purchase. The container has one or more batteries that power the circuitry.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A beverage container with active temperature control, comprising:
a body having a chamber configured to receive and hold a liquid; and a temperature control system, comprising
one or more heating or cooling elements in thermal communication with at least a portion of the chamber,
circuitry configured to control an operation of the one or more heating or cooling elements, the circuitry configured to wirelessly communicate with an electronic device to receive data corresponding to an amount of a currency or to wirelessly communicate with an electronic device to transmit data corresponding to an amount of a currency to make a purchase, and
one or more batteries configured to power one or both of the circuitry and the one or more hearing or cooling elements.
2 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the body comprises a user interface configured to display the amount of the currency received by the circuitry or the amount of the currency transmitted by the circuitry.
3 . The container of claim 2 , wherein the user interface is configured to display an amount of the currency remaining following the purchase.
4 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the circuitry is configured to wirelessly communicate with a smartphone to receive the data corresponding to the amount of the currency.
5 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the circuitry is configured to wirelessly communicate with a point of sale electronic device to transmit the data corresponding to the amount of the currency to make the purchase.
6 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the circuitry wirelessly communicates via near field communication.
7 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the body is a mug.
8 . The container of claim 7 , wherein the mug is double-walled.
9 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the body is vacuum insulated.
10 . A beverage container, comprising:
a body having a chamber configured to receive and hold a liquid; and a control system, comprising
circuitry configured to wirelessly communicate with an electronic device to receive data corresponding to an amount of a currency or to wirelessly communicate with an electronic device to transmit data corresponding to an amount of a currency to make a purchase, and
one or more batteries configured to power the circuitry.
11 . The container of claim 10 , wherein the body comprises a user interface configured to display the amount of the currency received by the circuitry or the amount of the currency transmitted by the circuitry.
12 . The container of claim 11 , wherein the user interface is configured to display an amount of the currency remaining following the purchase.
13 . The container of claim 10 , wherein the circuitry is configured to wirelessly communicate with a smartphone to receive the data corresponding to the amount of the currency.
14 . The container of claim 10 , wherein the circuitry is configured to wirelessly communicate with a point of sale electronic device to transmit the data corresponding to the amount of the currency to make the purchase.
15 . The container of claim 10 , wherein the circuitry wirelessly communicates via near field communication.
16 . The container of claim 10 , wherein the body is a mug.
17 . The container of claim 16 , wherein the mug is double-walled.
18 . The container of claim 10 , wherein the body is vacuum insulated.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
