What is claimed is:

. A system comprising:
one or more processors; and one or more memories in communication with the one or more processors and adapted to store a plurality of machine-readable instructions which when executed by the one or more processors are adapted to cause the system to: offer, by a merchant at a Point of Sale (POS), at least one payment option in connection with a transaction for at least one item, wherein the payment option(s) is presented in a display tailored to a specific user based on information maintained by the merchant about the specific user; and process the transaction using a payment option selected by the user.

. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information maintained by the merchant about the specific user further comprises past payment behavior and/or preferences of the specific user.

. The system of claim 2 , wherein the past payment behavior and/or preferences of the specific user further comprise information known to the merchant about specific payment options that are most and/or least preferred by the specific user.

. The system of claim 2 , wherein the past payment behavior and/or preferences of the specific user further comprise frequency of shopping by the specific user at the merchant's POS and/or specific user shopping habits.

. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information maintained by the merchant about the specific user is known only to the merchant.

. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information maintained by the merchant about the specific user further comprises publicly shared information.

. The system of claim 1 wherein the payment option(s) presented in the tailored display further comprise a favorite payment option of the user that is more prominently displayed than other less favorite payment options of the user.

. The system of claim 7 , wherein one or more payment options that are less preferred by the user are hidden behind a link.

. The system of claim 1 , wherein the payment option(s) are offered to the specific user listing a specific payment option that is most preferred by the specific user at a top of a list of payment options.

. The system of claim 1 , wherein the payment option(s) offered to the specific user further comprise only one payment option that is most preferred by the specific user.

. The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions are further adapted to cause the system to, during a checkout flow of an online transaction, use the information known to the merchant about the specific user to customize a merchant page to present or display the payment option(s) offered to the specific user.

. The system of claim 1 , wherein the payment option(s) offered by the merchant further comprise at least one of a payment service provider, a transaction card, a gift card, cash, and one or more special offers.

. The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions are further adapted to cause the system to offer the payment option(s) via a client device of the user, wherein the client device includes a downloaded payment application from the merchant or from a remote server.

. A method comprising:
