Concealed carry clip for handguns
Abstract
The present disclosure provides an improved concealed carry clip, that attaches with machine screws to the slide rear cover plate, and which has friction features on the clip to facilitate drawing back the slide with the thumb and index finger. In addition, the cover plate can be equipped with projections that reduce shearing forces on the machine screws. A drilled and tapped replacement cover plate is provided with the improved concealed carry clip. Though the improved concealed carry clips have, to date, been designed for Glock®, M&P®, and Springfield Armory® handguns, the concealed carry clips may be adapted for use on other similarly constructed handguns in the future.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A handgun clip comprising:
a mounting tab,
wherein the mounting tab is orthogonal to a clip,
wherein the mounting tab is connectable to a rear slide cover plate via an aperture disposed in the mounting tab;
the clip, wherein the clip is connected to the mounting tab at a first end of the clip and extends therefrom to a point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab and further extends to a point at which the clip bends inwardly relative to the outwardly bend, and further extends from the inwardly bend to another point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab.
22 . The handgun clip of claim 21 , wherein the clip is wider than the mounting tab.
23 . The handgun clip of claim 21 , wherein the point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab and the point at which the clip bends inwardly relative to the outwardly bend causes a space between the clip and a handgun when the handgun clip is installed on the handgun by the mounting tab.
24 . The handgun clip of claim 21 , wherein the another outwardly bend terminates the clip and extends no farther than a chamber of a handgun when the handgun clip is installed on the mounting tab.
25 . The handgun clip of claim 21 , the clip further comprising:
one or more punchings disposed between the point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab and the point at which the clip bends inwardly relative to the outwardly bend.
26 . The handgun clip of claim 21 , the clip further comprising:
one or more punchings disposed between the mounting tab and the point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab.
27 . The handgun clip of claim 21 , wherein the clip contacts a slide of a handgun at a point between the point at which the clip bends inwardly relative to the outwardly bend, and the another point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab.
28 . The handgun clip of claim 21 , wherein a width of the mounting tab and the clip is continuous along a length of the handgun clip.
29 . The handgun clip of claim 21 , wherein a width of the mounting tab and a width of the clip varies along a length of the handgun clip.
30 . A handgun clip system comprising:
a rear slide cover plate insertable into a slide of the handgun comprising:
one or more apertures
a mounting tab,
wherein the mounting tab is orthogonal to a clip,
wherein the mounting tab is connectable to a rear slide cover plate;
the clip, wherein the clip is connected to the mounting tab at a first end of the clip, and extends therefrom to a point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab and further extends to a point at which the clip bends inwardly relative to the outwardly bend, and further extends from the inwardly bend to another point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab.
31 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , wherein the rear slide cover plate is connectable to the handgun.
32 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , wherein the mounting tab is connectable to the rear slide cover plate via an aperture disposed in the mounting tab.
33 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , wherein the mounting tab includes a projection along a rear surface of the cover plate.
34 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , wherein the point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab and the point at which the clip bends inwardly relative to the outwardly bend causes a space between the clip and a handgun when the handgun clip is installed on the handgun by the mounting tab.
35 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , wherein the another outwardly bend terminates the clip and extends no farther than a chamber of a handgun when the handgun clip is installed on the mounting tab.
36 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , the clip further comprising:
one or more punchings disposed between the mounting tab and the point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab.
37 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , wherein the clip contacts the slide of the handgun at a point between the point at which the clip bends inwardly relative to the outwardly bend, and the another point at which the clip bends outwardly relative to the mounting tab.
38 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , wherein a top surface of the mounting tab is aligned with the top surface of the clip along the length of the handgun clip.
39 . The handgun clip system of claim 31 , wherein a top surface of the mounting tab is not aligned with the top surface of the clip along the length of the handgun clip.
40 . The handgun clip system of claim 39 , wherein a width of the mounting tab and the clip is continuous along a length of the handgun clip.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
