Abstract

A grip regulating sports glove assembly for enforcing a proper grip to a shaft of a swinging device includes a glove and a block. The glove is selectively positionable over a hand of a user. The block is engaged to a palmar face glove so that the block extends substantially across metacarpophalangeal joints of the hand. The block is substantially wedge shaped and tapers from a first side to a second side. The first side is positioned proximate to fingers of the glove and abuts the shaft of the swinging device, such as a bat, a club, racket, and the like, that is gripped in the hand. The block forces proper gripping of the shaft in the hand.

I claim:

1 . A grip regulating sports glove assembly comprising a glove configured to be positionable over a hand of a user, the glove having a block engaged to a palmar face thereof, such that the block extends substantially across metacarpophalangeal joints of the hand, the block being substantially wedge shaped such that the block tapers from a first side to a second side, the first side being positioned proximate to fingers of the glove wherein the first side is configured for abutting a shaft of a swinging device gripped in the hand, wherein the block is configured for forcing proper gripping of the shaft in the hand.

2 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 1 , wherein the block is substantially rigid.

3 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 2 , wherein the block comprises hardened rubber.

4 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 1 , wherein the block is rounded proximate to the first side defining a first section and a second section of the block, the first section being substantially cylindrically shaped, the second section being substantially triangular rod shaped.

5 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 1 , further including a fastener engaged to the glove proximate to an opening in the glove and being configured for removably engaging the glove for tightening the opening around a wrist of the user.

6 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 1 , wherein the glove is one of a pair of gloves wherein each glove is configured to be positionable over a respective hand of the user such that both hands have a glove positioned thereupon, such that the blocks of the pair of gloves are substantially parallel to and substantially opposingly positioned relative to the shaft of the swinging device when the shaft is gripped in the hands of the user, wherein the blocks are configured for forcing proper gripping of the shaft.

7 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 6 , wherein the blocks are substantially rigid.

8 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 7 , wherein the blocks comprise hardened rubber.

9 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 6 , wherein each block is rounded proximate to the first side defining a first section and a second section of the block, the first section being substantially cylindrically shaped, the second section being substantially triangular rod shaped.

10 . The grip regulating sports glove assembly of claim 6 , further including each glove having a fastener engaged thereto proximate to an opening in the glove and being configured for removably engaging the glove for tightening the opening around a wrist of the user.

11 . A grip regulating sports glove assembly comprising:
a glove configured to be positionable over a hand of a user, the glove having a block engaged to a palmar face thereof, such that the block extends substantially across metacarpophalangeal joints of the hand, the block being substantially wedge shaped such that the block tapers from a first side to a second side, the first side being positioned proximate to fingers of the glove wherein the first side is configured for abutting a shaft of a swinging device gripped in the hand, wherein the block is configured for forcing proper gripping of the shaft in the hand, the block being substantially rigid, the block comprising hardened rubber, the block being rounded proximate to the first side defining a first section and a second section of the block, the first section being substantially cylindrically shaped, the second section being substantially triangular rod shaped; a fastener engaged to the glove proximate to an opening in the glove and being configured for removably engaging the glove for tightening the opening around a wrist of the user; and the glove being one of a pair of gloves wherein each glove is configured to be positionable over a respective hand of the user such that both hands have a glove positioned thereupon, such that the blocks of the pair of gloves are substantially parallel to and substantially opposingly positioned relative to the shaft of the swinging device when the shaft is gripped in the hands of the user, wherein the blocks are configured for forcing proper gripping of the shaft.
