Prosthetic heart valve devices, prosthetic mitral valves and associated systems and methods
Abstract
Prosthetic heart valve devices for percutaneous replacement of native heart valves and associated systems and method are disclosed herein. A prosthetic heart valve device configured in accordance with a particular embodiment of the present technology can include an anchoring member having a first portion configured to engage with tissue on or near the annulus of the native heart valve and to deform in a non-circular shape to conform to the tissue. The device can also include a valve support coupled to a second portion of the anchoring member, configured to support a prosthetic valve and having a cross-sectional shape. In some embodiments, the first portion of the anchoring member is mechanically isolated from the valve support such that the cross-sectional shape of the valve support remains sufficiently stable that the prosthetic valve remains competent when the anchoring member is deformed in the non-circular shape.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 162 . (canceled)
163 . A prosthetic heart valve device for implantation at a native heart valve, the prosthetic heart valve device comprising:
a frame; a prosthetic valve coupled to the frame; and a sealing member attached to a surface of the frame, wherein the sealing member includes tissue engaging elements configured to penetrate tissue at the native heart valve.
164 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 163 , wherein the tissue engaging elements comprise metallic or polymeric wires or fibers that are sufficiently rigid and shape to penetrate tissue at the native heart valve.
165 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 164 , wherein the metallic or polymeric wires or fibers are woven into material of the sealing member.
166 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 163 , wherein the frame comprises an outer anchoring member and an inner valve support, wherein the prosthetic valve is coupled within the inner valve support.
167 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 166 , wherein the sealing member is attached to an outer surface of the outer anchoring member.
168 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 166 , wherein the sealing member is attached to an inner surface of the outer anchoring member.
169 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 166 , wherein the sealing member is attached to an outer surface of the inner valve support.
170 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 166 , wherein the sealing member is attached to an inner surface of the inner valve support.
171 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 166 , wherein the outer anchoring member is coupled to the inner valve support at downstream portions of the outer anchoring member and the inner valve support.
172 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 171 , wherein the outer anchoring member flares outwardly in an upstream direction from the downstream portion where it is coupled to the inner valve support.
173 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 166 , wherein the outer anchoring member is configured to engage with tissue of the native heart valve and is configured to deform to absorb forces from the native heart valve such that the inner valve support remains sufficiently stable such that the prosthetic valve remains competent when the outer anchoring member is deformed.
174 . A prosthetic heart valve device for implantation at a native heart valve having native valve leaflets, the prosthetic heart valve device comprising:
an outer anchoring member having a radially compressed configuration and a radially expanded configuration, the anchoring member configured to be positioned in a location between the native valve leaflets in the expanded radially expanded configuration; an inner valve support coupled to a downstream portion of the anchoring member, the inner valve support having a radially compressed configuration and a radially expanded configuration; a prosthetic valve coupled to an interior of the valve support; and a sealing member attached to a surface of the outer anchoring member, wherein the sealing member includes tissue engaging elements configured to penetrate tissue at the native heart valve with the outer anchoring member in the radially expanded configuration.
175 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 174 , wherein the tissue engaging elements comprise metallic or polymeric wires or fibers that are sufficiently rigid and shape to penetrate tissue at the native heart valve.
176 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 175 , wherein the metallic or polymeric wires or fibers are woven into material of the sealing member.
177 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 174 , wherein the sealing member is attached to an outer surface of the outer anchoring member.
178 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 174 , wherein the sealing member is attached to an inner surface of the outer anchoring member.
179 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 174 , wherein the outer anchoring member flares outwardly in an upstream direction from the downstream portion where it is coupled to the inner valve support.
180 . The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 174 , wherein the outer anchoring member is configured to engage with tissue of the native heart valve and is configured to deform to absorb forces from the native heart valve such that the inner valve support remains sufficiently stable such that the prosthetic valve remains competent when the outer anchoring member is deformed.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
