Abstract
A mobile apparatus adapted to be handheld and configured for electronic processing of blood sugar affecting factors includes a first central processing unit arranged for processing of patient critical information objects, at least one memory comprising a plurality of in advance stored food units and values of at least one related blood sugar affecting parameter, an input unit arranged to provide user input, such as a choice of food units and an amount thereof, a display arranged for visualization of food units for said user input, and for visualization of summed up blood sugar affecting parameters, and a second central processing unit arranged for processing of patient non-critical information objects.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for electronic processing of blood sugar affecting factors, comprising:
storing a plurality of food units and corresponding blood sugar affecting parameters for each food unit of said plurality of food units on at least one memory; wherein said at least one corresponding blood sugar affecting parameter is a stored value of one or more of the following parameters: glycemic indexes; glycemic loads; and glycemic affecting parameters;
that quantifies the effect the food unit will have on a blood sugar level;
communicating between said at least one memory and a central processing unit;
inputting a quantity of consumed food units by selecting from said plurality of food units from an input;
displaying said at least one related corresponding blood sugar affecting parameter as summed up blood sugar affecting parameters on a display;
calculating said summed up blood sugar affecting parameters as calculated values concerning glycemic index totals or glycemic load totals based on the stored values with respect to the glycemic indexes or the glycemic load, and the glycemic affecting parameters for said quantity of consumed food units, using said central processing unit.
2 . The method of claim 1 further comprising measuring vital parameters from a user using a measuring device and providing said measured vital parameters to said central processing unit.
3 . The method of claim 2 further comprising calculating a lifestyle profile based on an interrelationship between said summed-up blood sugar affecting parameters and said measured vital parameters using said central processing.
4 . The method of claim 2 wherein said glycemic affecting parameters have a blood sugar lowering effect.
5 . The method of claim 2 wherein said vital parameter is a measured blood sugar value.
6 . The method of claim 2 wherein said measuring said vital parameters from a using said measuring device comprises measuring said vital parameters using a blood pressure monitor.
7 . The method of claim 2 wherein said measuring said vital parameters from a using said measuring device comprises measuring said vital parameters using a pulsometer.
8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein said vital parameter is a heart rate.
9 . The method of claim 2 , wherein said vital parameter is a weight.
10 . The method of claim 1 , calculating a net carbohydrate of said food units using said central processing unit, and display a total amount of said net carbohydrate on said display.
11 . The method of claim 1 , calculating a net carbohydrate of said food units using said central processing unit, and displaying a total amount of said net carbohydrate on said display, and calculating said total amount of net carbohydrates for selected food units using said central processing unit.
12 . The method of claim 1 , enabling a user to calibrate the input of insulin dosage, by using an input after meal blood sugar level, and comparing this blood sugar value with the insulin dosage in terms of true/false, correct/incorrect.
13 . The method of claim 1 , comprising registration of a time of an event and for registration of time intervals between times of different events using a timer unit, and storing said total amount on said memory for providing a monitoring trend that extends over a certain time, retrospectively providing historical blood sugar affecting parameter information objects.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said blood sugar affecting parameters comprise information objects about contents of sugars, carbohydrates, fibers and possible preparation of respective food unit and/or physical activities, health condition and medication of said user.
15 . A mobile, portable apparatus adapted to be handheld and configured for electronic processing of blood sugar affecting factors, comprising:
at least one memory having stored thereon a plurality of food units and corresponding blood sugar affecting parameters for each food unit of said plurality of food units; wherein said at least one corresponding blood sugar affecting parameter is a stored value of one or more of the following parameters: glycemic indexes; glycemic loads; and glycemic affecting parameters;
that quantifies the effect the food unit will have on a blood sugar level;
wherein said at least one memory is arranged and configured to communicate with a central processing unit;
a measuring device for measuring vital parameters from a user that are provided to the central processing unit;
an input unit arranged and configured to allow the user to input a quantity of consumed food units selected from said plurality of food units;
a display arranged and configured to display said at least one related corresponding blood sugar affecting parameter as summed up blood sugar affecting parameters;
wherein said central processing unit calculates said summed up blood sugar affecting parameters as calculated values concerning glycemic index totals or glycemic load totals based on the stored values with respect to the glycemic indexes or the glycemic load, and the glycemic affecting parameters for said quantity of consumed food units;
wherein said central processing unit is constructed and arranged for calculation of a lifestyle profile based on an interrelationship between said summed-up blood sugar affecting parameters and said measured vital parameters.
16 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein said glycemic affecting parameters having a blood sugar lowering effect.
17 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein said vital parameter is a measured blood sugar value.
18 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein measuring device is a blood pressure monitor.
19 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein measuring device is a pulsometer.
20 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein said vital parameter is a heart rate.
21 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein said vital parameter is a weight.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
