Secure cardless cash withdrawal
Abstract
Methods, systems, and computer program products for secure cardless cash withdrawal are disclosed. For example, a computer-implemented method may include detecting presence of a user device at an automated teller machine (ATM) by one or more sensors, requesting an authorization indicator for a cash request in response to the detecting, receiving the authorization indicator associated with the cash request at the ATM where presentation of the authorization indicator at any one of a plurality of ATMs would authorize the cash request, and distributing funds associated with the cash request in response to receiving the authorization indicator.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . A method comprising:
detecting, using one or more sensor devices of a first ATM, that a user device is located within a predetermined distance from the first ATM; receiving, by the first ATM, a cash request for a cash withdrawal, from a user input associated with a user of the user device; establishing a wireless short-range communication channel with the user device; receiving, via the wireless short-range communication channel, data comprising an account identifier associated with a user account, of the user, from an application of the user device; receiving, by the first ATM, a code from the user for authorizing the user and the user device for the cash withdrawal at the first ATM; determining, by the first ATM, that the user is authorized, the determining based on communication with an authorization system, the determining indicating that the code matches an authorization code and that a lapse of time between the authorization code was sent to the user device and a second time indicating when the code is received by the first ATM is within a time threshold; and in response to authorizing the user, distributing, by the first ATM, funds from the user account based on the cash request.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the code is a one-time code, provided by the authorization system to the user device, and associated with the cash request.
4 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
prompting, by the first ATM, the user device for biometric information of the user; and responsive to receiving the biometric information from the user device, validating the biometric information with the authorization system before the distributing of the funds.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the one or more sensor devices comprise a beacon device associated with a beacon network.
6 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising determining that an application for interfacing with the first ATM is installed on the user device before establishing the wireless short-range communication channel with the user device.
7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the receiving the code comprises scanning a code displayed on a display of the user device.
8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the determining that the user is authorized comprises determining that the user has not fulfilled the cash request at a different ATM from the first ATM.
9 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising reporting completion of the cash request for the cash withdrawal to the authorization system to deactivate the authorization code.
10 . A system, comprising:
a non-transitory memory storing instructions; and a processor configured to execute the instructions to cause the system to:
receive, from an authorization system, a selection of the system as an ATM for dispending funds to a user that is associated with a user device;
determine that one or more sensor devices of the system detect the user device being located within a predetermined distance from the system, and that the user device is a device associated with the selection;
access a fund request for a fund withdrawal, from a user input of the user;
receive, via a wireless short-range communication channel with the user device, data comprising an account identifier associated with a user account, of the user, from an application of the user device;
receive a code for authorizing the user for funds withdrawal using the system;
determine, based on communication of the code with the authorization system, the communication indicating that the code matches an authorization code and that a lapse of time between the authorization code was sent to the user device and a second time indicating when the code received by the system is within a time threshold; and
in response to the user being authorized, distribute funds from the user account based on the fund request.
11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the code is a one-time code, provided by the authorization system to the user device, and associated with the fund request.
12 . The system of claim 10 , wherein executing the instructions further causes the system to,
prompt the user device for biometric information of the user; and responsive to receiving the biometric information from the user device, validate the biometric information with the authorization system before the distributing of the funds.
13 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the one or more sensor devices comprise a beacon device associated with a beacon network.
14 . The system of claim 10 , wherein executing the instructions further causes the system to,
determine that an application for interfacing with system is installed on the user device before establishing the wireless short-range communication channel with the user device.
15 . The system of claim 10 , wherein executing the instructions further causes the system to,
indicate completion of the fund request for the fund withdrawal to the authorization system to deactivate the authorization code.
16 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions executable to cause performance of operations comprising:
detecting, using one or more sensor devices of a first ATM, that a user device is located within a predetermined distance from the first ATM; receiving, by the first ATM, a request for a cash withdrawal, from a user input associated with a user of the user device; establishing a wireless short-range communication channel with the user device; receiving, via the wireless short-range communication channel, data comprising an account identifier associated with a user account, of the user, from an application of the user device; receiving, by the first ATM, a code from the user for authorizing the user and the user device for the cash withdrawal at the first ATM; determining, by the first ATM, that the user is authorized, the determining based on communication with an authorization system, the determining indicating that the code matches an authorization code and that a lapse of time between the authorization code was sent to the user device and a second time indicating when the code is received by the first ATM is within a time threshold; and in response to authorizing the user, distributing, by the first ATM, funds from the user account based on the request.
17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the operations further comprise reporting completion of the request for the cash withdrawal to the authorization system to deactivate the authorization code.
18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the code is a one-time alphanumeric code, provided by the authorization system to the user device, and associated with the request.
19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the operations further comprise:
prompting, by the first ATM, the user device for biometric information of the user; and responsive to receiving the biometric information from the user device, validating the biometric information with the authorization system before the distributing of the funds.
20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the operations further comprise:
determining that an application for interfacing with the first ATM is installed on the user device before establishing the wireless short-range communication channel with the user device.
21 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the determining that the user is authorized comprises determining that the user has not fulfilled the request for the cash withdrawal at a different ATM.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
