User interfaces for browsing content from multiple content applications on an electronic device
Abstract
In some embodiments, an electronic device presents media items from different media applications in a unified media browsing application. In some embodiments, an electronic device facilitates browsing of media from different media applications based on category of media (e.g., movies, television shows, etc.). In some embodiments, an electronic device facilitates setup of a unified media browsing application that presents media items from different media applications in a unified media browsing user interface. In some embodiments, an electronic device displays multiple episodes of a collection of episodic content (e.g., a television series) in a user interface for the collection of episodic content. In some embodiments, an electronic device displays representations of, and provides access to, live-event media items accessible on the electronic device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . A method comprising:
at an electronic device in communication with a display device and one or more input devices:
displaying, via the display device, a plurality of representations of media items, including a first representation of a first media item, wherein:
in accordance with a determination that one or more criteria are satisfied, the first representation includes information associated with playback of the first media item; and
in accordance with a determination that the one or more criteria are not satisfied, the first representation does not include the information associated with playback of the first media item.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
in accordance with a determination that the one or more criteria are satisfied, displaying second information associated with the first media item, different from the information associated with playback of the first media item, visually separate from the first representation of the first media item.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the second information includes a title of the first media item.
5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the one or more criteria includes a criterion that is satisfied when the first representation has focus.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein:
the first representation of the first media item has the focus; the plurality of representations of media items includes a second representation of a second media item; and the second representation does not have the focus and does not include information associated with playback of the second media item.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein:
in accordance with a determination that one or more second criteria are satisfied, including a criterion that is satisfied when the second representation has the focus, the second representation includes information associated with playback of the second media item, the method further comprising: receiving an input, via the one or more input devices, for moving the focus from the first representation to the second representation; and in response to receiving the input:
ceasing display of the information associated with the playback of the first media item at the first representation; and
updating the second representation to include information associated with the playback of the second media item.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein:
the plurality of representations of media items is overlaid on a background; in accordance with the determination that the first representation has the focus, the background includes content associated with the first media item; and in accordance with the determination that the second representation has the focus, the background includes content associated with the second media item.
9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the second media item has not been at least partially watched by a user of the electronic device, the method further comprising:
receiving an input, via the one or more input devices, for moving the focus from the first representation to the second representation; and in response to receiving the input:
ceasing display of the information associated with the playback of the first media item in the first representation;
in accordance with a determination that one or more second criteria are not satisfied, including a criterion that is satisfied when the user of the electronic device has at least partially watched the second media item, forgoing updating the second representation to include information associated with the playback of the second media item; and
in accordance with a determination that the one or more second criteria are satisfied, updating the second representation to include information associated with the playback of the second media item.
10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the first representation is selectable to cause playback of first media item and the second representation is selectable to cause playback of the second media item.
11 . The method of claim 6 , wherein:
the plurality of representations of media items is located at a first region of a user interface; and a third representation associated with a third media item is located at a second region of the user interface, different from the first region, the method further comprising: receiving, via the one or more input devices, a user input corresponding to a request to move the focus to the third representation; in response to receiving the user input:
moving the focus to the third representation without updating the third representation to include information associated with playback of the third media item.
12 . The method of claim 2 , wherein:
in accordance with a determination that the first representation has the focus, the first representation is displayed with an indication of focus; and in accordance with a determination that the first representation does not have the focus, the first representation is not displayed with the indication of focus.
13 . The method of claim 2 , wherein:
in accordance with the determination that the one or more first criteria are satisfied:
the information associated with the playback of the first media item includes an indication associated with a playback position within the first media item at which the first media item will playback at the electronic device in response to receiving an input selecting the first representation.
14 . An electronic device, comprising:
one or more processors; memory; and one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for: displaying, via a display device, a plurality of representations of media items, including a first representation of a first media item, wherein:
in accordance with a determination that one or more criteria are satisfied, the first representation includes information associated with playback of the first media item; and
in accordance with a determination that the one or more criteria are not satisfied, the first representation does not include the information associated with playback of the first media item.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which when executed by one or more processors of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to:
display, via a display device, a plurality of representations of media items, including a first representation of a first media item, wherein:
in accordance with a determination that one or more criteria are satisfied, the first representation includes information associated with playback of the first media item; and
in accordance with a determination that the one or more criteria are not satisfied, the first representation does not include the information associated with playback of the first media item.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
