Abstract

Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for identifying gaps in content in a website for content generation and/or modification for the website. A gap in content in a website is identified based on a comparison of search results for the website and a third-party website for a search using a keyword. A user interface is generated with the keyword providing information regarding the gap in content in the website. The gap in the content in the website can be used to generate new content and/or modify the existing content of the website.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
The invention claimed is:

         1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
identifying a gap in content in a website based on a comparison of search results for the website and a third-party website for a search using a keyword; and generating a user interface with the keyword providing information regarding the gap in content in the website.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the gap in content in the website is identified based on the search results for the search using the keyword including at least one search result for the third-party website and no search result for the website.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the gap in content in the website is identified based on a comparison of a ranking for at least one search result for the third-party website and a ranking for at least one search result for the website.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface includes an indication of a frequency of use of the keyword based on a number of searches including the keyword.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the keyword is identified based on a second keyword.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein a gap in content in the website is identified for a plurality of keywords that include the keyword, and wherein the user interface provides information regarding the plurality of keywords.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the gap in content in the website is identified based on a comparison of search results for the website and a plurality of third-party websites.

8 . A machine-readable non-transitory storage medium storing instructions to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:
identifying a gap in content in a website based on a comparison of search results for the website and a third-party website for a search using a keyword; and generating a user interface with the keyword providing information regarding the gap in content in the website.

9 . The machine-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the gap in content in the website is identified based on the search results for the search using the keyword including at least one search result for the third-party website and no search result for the website.

10 . The machine-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the gap in content in the website is identified based on a comparison of a ranking for at least one search result for the third-party website and a ranking for at least one search result for the website.

11 . The machine-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the user interface includes an indication of a frequency of use of the keyword based on a number of searches including the keyword.

12 . The machine-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the keyword is identified based on a second keyword.

13 . The machine-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , wherein a gap in content in the website is identified for a plurality of keywords that include the keyword, and wherein the user interface provides information regarding the plurality of keywords.

14 . The machine-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the gap in content in the website is identified based on a comparison of search results for the website and a plurality of third-party websites.

         15 . A system comprising:
one or more processors; and one or more machine-readable media storing instructions that, when used by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: identifying a gap in content in a website based on a comparison of search results for the website and a third-party website for a search using a keyword; and generating a user interface with the keyword providing information regarding the gap in content in the website.

16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the gap in content in the website is identified based on the search results for the search using the keyword including at least one search result for the third-party website and no search result for the website.

17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the gap in content in the website is identified based on a comparison of a ranking for at least one search result for the third-party website and a ranking for at least one search result for the website.

18 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the user interface includes an indication of a frequency of use of the keyword based on a number of searches including the keyword.

19 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the keyword is identified based on a second keyword.

20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein a gap in content in the website is identified for a plurality of keywords that include the keyword, and wherein the user interface provides information regarding the plurality of keywords.
