Abstract
A cable hanger includes: a first half including a main body with a first cable recess, a latch adapted for mounting to a mounting structure, and a first securing feature; and a second half including a main body with a second cable recess, a bore adapted for receiving the latch of a second cable hanger, and a second securing feature. The first half is mated with the second half such that the first and second cable recesses form a pocket for receiving and grasping a cable. The first and second securing features engage to maintain the first half and the second half in a mated condition.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThat which is claimed is:
1 . A cable hanger, comprising:
a first half including a main body with a first and second cable recesses, a first bore located between the first and second cable recesses, and first securing features; a second half including a main body with third and fourth cables recesses, a second bore located between the third and fourth recesses, and second securing features; wherein the first half is mated with the second half such that the first and third cable recesses form a first pocket for receiving and grasping a first cable, the second and fourth cable recesses form a second pocket for forming a second cable, and the first and second securing features engage to maintain the first half and the second half in a mated condition; wherein the first cable recess includes a flex member that extends into the first pocket and is positioned and configured to engage the first cable in the first pocket.
2 . The cable hanger defined in claim 1 , wherein the first bore is a countersunk bore.
3 . The cable hanger defined in claim 2 , wherein the second bore is a countersunk bore.
4 . The cable hanger defined in claim 1 , wherein the flex member has first and second ends, and wherein the first and second ends are fixed to an inner surface of the first recess.
5 . The cable hanger defined in claim 1 , wherein the flex member is a first flex member, and further comprising second, third and fourth flex members positioned in, respectively, the second, third and fourth cable recesses.
6 . The cable hanger defined in claim 1 , wherein the first securing features include a toothed slot, and wherein the second securing features include a ratchet strap.
7 . The cable hanger defined in claim 1 , wherein the first and second halves comprise a polymeric material.
8 . The cable hanger defined in claim 1 , in combination with a first cable captured in the first pocket.
9 . The cable hanger defined in claim 1 , mounted to a cable ladder or antenna tower via a bolt inserted into the first bore in the first half.
10 . A cable hanger, comprising:
a first half including a main body with a first and second cable recesses, a first bore located between the first and second cable recesses, and first securing features; a second half including a main body with third and fourth cables recesses, a second bore located between the third and fourth recesses, and second securing features; wherein the first half is mated with the second half such that the first and third cable recesses form a first pocket for receiving and grasping a first cable, the second and fourth cable recesses form a second pocket for forming a second cable, and the first and second securing features engage to maintain the first half and the second half in a mated condition; wherein the first cable recess includes a flex member fixed at each end that extends into the first pocket and is positioned and configured to engage the first cable in the first pocket.
11 . The cable hanger defined in claim 10 , wherein the first bore is a countersunk bore.
12 . The cable hanger defined in claim 11 , wherein the second bore is a countersunk bore.
13 . The cable hanger defined in claim 10 , wherein the flex member is a first flex member, and further comprising second, third and fourth flex members positioned in, respectively, the second, third and fourth cable recesses.
14 . The cable hanger defined in claim 10 , wherein the first securing features include a toothed slot, and wherein the second securing features include a ratchet strap.
15 . The cable hanger defined in claim 10 , wherein the first and second halves comprise a polymeric material.
16 . The cable hanger defined in claim 10 , in combination with a first cable captured in the first pocket.
17 . The cable hanger defined in claim 10 , mounted to a cable ladder or antenna tower via a bolt inserted into the first bore in the first half.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
