Abstract
The present invention relates to recipient customization of a bone conducting hearing device. Customization of the bone conducting hearing device may include attaching the bone conducting hearing device to a recipient, establishing communication between the hearing device and an external device, generating at least one control setting with the external device, and storing the at least one control setting in a memory device in the hearing device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 29 . (canceled)
30 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the bone conducting device is configured to generate vibrations and direct the vibrations to a mastoid bone of a recipient of the bone conducting device to evoke a hearing percept via conduction of the vibrations through the mastoid bone.
31 . A bone conduction device, comprising:
a transducer configured to generate mechanical vibrations in response to a signal indicative of a sound, wherein the bone conduction device further includes at least one memory unit.
32 . The bone conduction device of claim 31 , wherein:
the at least one memory unit has stored therein data indicative of a response to an acoustic target.
33 . The bone conduction device of claim 32 , further comprising:
an interface configured to enable the bone conduction device to communicate with a remote unit remote from the bone conduction device; and wherein the bone conduction device is configured to receive a control signal from the remote unit and to adjust an operating parameter of the bone conduction device that influences the generated mechanical vibrations, based on the control signal.
34 . The bone conduction device of claim 31 , wherein:
the bone conduction device is usable as part of an overall fitting system.
35 . The bone conduction device of claim 31 , wherein:
the bone conduction device is configured to automatically determine a level of background noise.
36 . The bone conduction device of claim 31 , wherein:
the bone conduction device is configured to enable a recipient to implement a level of background noise check using the bone conduction device.
37 . The bone conduction device of claim 32 , further comprising:
an interface configured to enable the bone conduction device to communicate with a remote unit remote from the bone
38 . A bone conduction device, comprising:
a transducer configured to generate mechanical vibrations in response to a signal indicative of a sound, wherein the bone conduction device further includes a noise generator configured to perform a frequency sweep.
39 . The bone conduction device of claim 38 , wherein:
the noise generator is a sine wave generator.
40 . A bone conduction device, comprising:
a transducer configured to generate mechanical vibrations in response to a signal indicative of a sound, wherein the bone conduction device further includes at least one memory unit in which a control setting is stored, which control setting superseded prior control data of the bone conduction device.
41 . The bone conduction device of claim 40 , wherein:
the control setting in which is stored in the memory unit control a noise reduction system of the device.
42 . The bone conduction device of claim 40 , wherein:
the control setting in which is stored in the memory unit control a beam former of the device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
