Abstract

Embodiments of the invention include a firearm system and method of assembly of the firearm system including a receiver complex including a receiver coupled to a forward receiver. A feed port is positioned between the receiver and the forward receiver, and a striker coil assembly is positioned proximate the receiver, and includes a plurality of strikers each extending at least partially through a coil. An interchangeable barrel is coupled to the forward receiver forming a breech. In some embodiments, the firearm system includes a breech that includes a plurality of side-by-side bores of the barrel. Some embodiments include a magazine coupled to the receiver complex adjacent the feedport to simultaneously feed more than one dischargeable projectile into the feedport with a single charge block. In some embodiments, the charge block includes a plurality of chambers and a plurality of projectiles positioned within the plurality of chambers.

         21 . A recoil shield assembly for a multi-bore firearm comprising:
 a firearm comprising a plurality of bores, and   a recoil shield comprising:
 a shield body, 
 a first shield body face, 
 a second shield body face, and 
 a plurality of firing pin holes; 
   wherein the recoil shield is coupled to the firearm;   wherein each of the plurality of firing pin holes each extend through the first shield body face to the second shield body face;   wherein each of the plurality of firing pin holes are substantially aligned with a respective one of the plurality of bores.   
     
     
         22 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 21 ,
 further comprising an action cam;   wherein the recoil shield is coupled to the action cam.   
     
     
         23 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 21 ,
 further comprising a plurality of firing pins;   wherein at least a portion of at least one of the plurality of firing pins is positioned within at least one of the plurality of firing pin holes.   
     
     
         24 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 21 ,
 further comprising a charge block comprising:
 a plurality of projectiles, and 
 one or more recessed areas; 
   wherein the recoil shield further comprises one or more castellations;   wherein the one or more castellations are located on the first face of the shield body; and   wherein the one or more castellations are configured and arranged to couple the one or more recessed areas.   
     
     
         25 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 21 ,
 wherein the recoil shield further comprises one or more wings, and   wherein the one or more wings extend in a direction away from the first and second face.   
     
     
         26 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 21 ,
 wherein the recoil shield is configured and arranged to slide forward and backward within the firearm.   
     
     
         27 . A recoil shield assembly for a multi-bore firearm comprising:
 a recoil shield comprising:
 a shield body, 
 a first shield body face, 
 a second shield body face, 
 one or more castellations, 
 one or more wings, and 
 a plurality of firing pin holes; 
   wherein each of the plurality of firing pin holes extend through a first face of the shield body to a second face of the shield body;   wherein the one or more wings extend in a direction away from the first and second face;   wherein the one or more castellations are located on the first shield body face; and   wherein the castellations are configured and arranged to couple with complementary recessed areas on a charge block comprising multiple projectiles.   
     
     
         28 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 30 ,
 further comprising a plurality of firing pins, and   further comprising an action cam;   wherein at least a portion of at least one of the plurality of firing pins is positioned within at least one of the plurality of firing pin holes; and   wherein the recoil shield is coupled to the action cam.   
     
     
         29 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 27 ,
 wherein the first face further comprises a first edge and a second edge;   wherein a length of the first edge is a first length;   wherein a length of the second edged is a second length; and   wherein the first length is longer than the second length.   
     
     
         30 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 29 ,
 wherein at least one of the one or more castellations extends from a middle section of the second edge to the first edge.   
     
     
         31 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 29 ,
 wherein each of the plurality of firing pin holes are spaced from each other in a direction of the first length.   
     
     
         32 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 31 ,
 wherein the one or more wings extend in a direction perpendicular to the first shield body face and the second shield body face.   
     
     
         33 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 27 ,
 wherein the one or more castellations further comprise a first castellation;   wherein the plurality of firing pin holes further comprise a first hole, a second hole, and a third hole;   wherein the second hole is further away from the castellation than the first hole; and   wherein the third hole is further away from the castellation than the second hole.   
     
     
         34 . A recoil shield assembly for firing multiple projectiles comprising:
 a receiver,   a plurality of firing pins, and   a recoil shield comprising:
 a shield body, 
 a first shield body face, 
 a second shield body face, 
 a plurality of firing pin holes  3320 ; 
   wherein each of the plurality of firing pin holes extend from the first shield body face to the second shield body face;   wherein each of the plurality of firing pin holes are configured and arranged to enable an insertion of at least portion of a respective one of each of the plurality of firing pins;   wherein the recoil shield is configured and arranged to couple to the receiver; and   wherein the receiver is configured and arranged to enable the recoil shield to move when at least one of the plurality of firing pins are inserted into at least one of the plurality of firing pin holes.   
     
     
         35 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 34 ,
 wherein the receiver is configured and arranged to enable the recoil shield to move relative to the firing pins.   
     
     
         36 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 34 ,
 wherein the recoil shield further comprises one or more wings; and   wherein the one or more wings are configured to cover at least a portion of at least one of the plurality of firing pins when the recoil shield is coupled to the receiver.   
     
     
         37 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 34 ,
 further comprising an action cam;   wherein the action cam is configured and arranged to couple to the receiver; and   wherein the action cam is configured and arranged to move the recoil shield relative to the firing pins.   
     
     
         38 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 34 ,
 wherein the action cam further comprises a plurality of firing pin clearance grooves; and   wherein each of the plurality of firing pin clearance grooves are configured to align each of a respective one of the firing pins with each of a respective one of the firing pin holes.   
     
     
         39 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 34 ,
 wherein the recoil shield further comprises one or more castellations;   wherein the one or more castellations are located on the first shield body face; and   wherein the castellations are configured and arranged to couple with complementary recessed areas on a charge block comprising multiple projectiles.   
     
     
         40 . The recoil shield assembly of  claim 34 ,
 further comprising a plurality of strikers;   wherein each of the plurality of strikers are configured and arranged to be independently actuated;   wherein each of the plurality of strikers are configured and arranged to strike a respective one of each of the plurality of firing pins.
