Abstract

A shoe cover is a sheet made of a water impermeable material formed in a continuous loop and having a shoe shape. The sheet includes a top rim defining an open top end and a bottom rim defining an open bottom end. The open bottom end is substantially larger than the open top end. For example, the open bottom end may be at least twice as large in diameter than the open top end. A first continuous elastomeric band is joined along the entire open top rim, and a second continuous elastomeric band is joined to the entire open bottom rim. The water impermeable material may be a transparent or translucent flexible plastic.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A shoe cover comprising:
 a sheet made of a water impermeable material formed in a continuous loop and having a shoe shape, the sheet comprising a top rim defining an open top end and a bottom rim defining an open bottom end, wherein the open bottom end is substantially larger than the open top end; a first continuous elastomeric band joined to the top rim; and a second continuous elastomeric band joined to the bottom rim.

         2 . The shoe cover of claim 1 , wherein the water impermeable material is a transparent flexible plastic.

         3 . A method of protecting a shoe comprising:
 providing a shoe cover comprising:
 a sheet made of a water impermeable material formed in a continuous loop and having a shoe shape, the sheet comprising a top rim defining an open top end and a bottom rim defining an open bottom end, wherein the open bottom end is substantially larger than the open top end;
 a first continuous elastomeric band joined to the top rim; and
 a second continuous elastomeric band joined to the bottom rim; and
   placing the shoe cover over a shoe so that the first continuous elastomeric band is wrapped around a neck of the shoe and the second continuous elastomeric band is wrapped around a sidewall of a sole of the shoe, leaving a bottom portion of the sole exposed.

         4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the water impermeable material is a transparent flexible plastic.
