Abstract

A device for conducting a transaction by generating and displaying QR codes in the infrared spectrum, by generating a first QR code; displaying the first QR code via the infrared array for a predetermined duration of time; receiving a confirmation that a user device has entered paired state with the transaction device based on the user device scanning the first QR code; receiving authentication data indicating that the paired user device is authorized to complete the transaction; completing the transaction.

1 . An automated teller machine for conducting a transaction, comprising:
 a cash dispenser;   a network controller for establishing a communication link to a server system;   an infrared array configured to display images;   at least one processor; and   a storage medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:   generating a first image, wherein the first image is a QR code;   transmitting, to a user device, the first image via the infrared array for a predetermined duration of time, wherein the first image is outputted in an infrared spectrum unperceivable by a user;   receiving, via the communication link, a confirmation that the user device has entered a paired state with the automated teller machine based on the user device scanning the first image;   receiving, via the communication link, authentication data indicating that the paired user device has been authorized to complete the transaction;   completing the transaction, the transaction comprising at least one of withdrawing or depositing funds via the cash dispenser; and   terminating the pairing with the user device by causing the user device to enter an unpaired state.   
     
     
         2 . The automated teller machine of  claim 1 , wherein after the predetermined duration of time elapses, the operations further comprise:
 generating a second image different from the first image, wherein the second image is a different QR code; and   transmitting the second image for another predetermined duration of time.

         4 . The automated teller machine of  claim 1 , wherein the automated teller machine no longer displays the first image when the user device is in the paired state. 
     
     
         5 . The automated teller machine of  claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 generating a second image different from the first image based on a determination that the user device has entered the unpaired state; and   transmitting the second image for another predetermined duration of time.   
     
     
         6 . The automated teller machine of  claim 1 , the operations further comprising:
 receiving a location of the user device; and   terminating the pairing with the user device when the location resides outside a predetermined area surrounding the automated teller machine.   
     
     
         7 . The automated teller machine of  claim 1 , the operations further comprising:
 receiving a request for the transaction via the communication link, the request comprising parameters associated with the transaction;   determining that the automated teller machine is capable for performing the transaction as defined by the parameters based on an operating condition of the automated teller machine;   determining that the transaction has been completed; and   updating the operating condition in response to the completed transaction.   
     
     
         8 . A method for conducting a transaction on an automated teller machine, comprising:
 generating a first image, wherein the first image is a QR code;   transmitting, to a user device, the first image, via an infrared array of the automated teller machine for a predetermined duration of time, wherein the first image is outputted in an infrared spectrum unperceivable by a user;   receiving, via a communication link to a server system, a confirmation that the user device has entered a paired state with the automated teller machine based on the user device scanning the first image;   receiving, via the communication link, authentication data indicating that the paired user device has been authorized to complete the transaction;   completing the transaction, the transaction comprising at least one of withdrawing or depositing funds via a cash dispenser; and   terminating the pairing with the user device by causing the user device to enter an unpaired state.   
     
     
         9 . The method  claim 8 , wherein after the predetermined duration of time elapses, the operations further comprise:
 generating a second image different from the first image, wherein the second image is a different QR code; and   transmitting the second image for another predetermined duration of time.

 receiving a location of the user device; and   terminating the pairing with the user device when the location resides outside a predetermined area surrounding the automated teller machine.

 receiving a request for the transaction via the communication link, the request comprising parameters associated with the transaction;   determining that the automated teller machine is capable for performing the transaction as defined by the parameters based on an operating condition of the automated teller machine.   determining that the transaction has been completed; and   updating the operating condition in response to the completed transaction.   
     
     
         15 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored instructions, which when executed, causes at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
 generating a first image, wherein the first image is a QR code;   transmitting, to a user device, associated with an automated teller machine, the first image via an infrared array of the automated teller machine for a predetermined duration of time, wherein the first image is outputted in an infrared spectrum unperceivable by a user;   receiving, via a communication link to a server system, a confirmation that the user device has entered a paired state with the automated teller machine based on the user device scanning the first image, wherein the automated teller machine no longer displays a image when the user device is in the paired state;   receiving, via the communication link, authentication data indicating that the paired user device has been authorized to complete a transaction;   completing the transaction, the transaction comprising at least one of withdrawing or depositing funds via a cash dispenser; and   terminating the pairing with the user device by causing the user device to enter an unpaired state.   
     
     
         16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 15 , wherein after the predetermined duration of time elapses, the operations further comprise:
 generating a second image, different from the first image, wherein the second image is a different QR code; and   transmitting the second image for another predetermined duration of time.
