Abstract

The present disclosure teaches a medical device and method of use, employing a tube which is composed of segments and bends capable being configured into unique shape that allows said device to use the lesser (inferior) curve of aortic Arch and other vessel structures as as fulcrums of support for a guide catheter, for subsequent prevention of recoil and displacement thereof, while delivering additional catheters or devices into the distal branches of the great vessels. A method for using same.

         10 . An endovascular medical device comprising:
 a single tubular body configured for positioning within a blood vessel, the single tubular body including:   a first segment having a length of at least 20 cm and an internal diameter from 0.01 Fr to 30 Fr, the first segment defining a proximal end hole;   a first bend connected to the first segment;   a second segment connected to the first bend, the second segment having a length between 3 cm and 35 cm and an internal diameter of from 0.01 Fr to 30 Fr, wherein the first bend includes a curvature between 55 degrees and 125 degrees such that the second segment is engageable with an arch of the blood vessel to brace the endovascular medical device therein and thereby resist recoil upon insertion of an instrument into the endovascular medical device;   a second bend connected to the second segment and including a curvature between 30 degrees and 150 degrees;   a third segment connected to the second bend, the third segment having a length of at least 0.5 cm and an internal diameter of from 0.01 Fr to 30 Fr;   a third bend connected to the third segment and including a curvature between 30 degrees and 150 degrees; and   a fourth segment connected to the third bend and defining a distal end hole, the fourth segment having a length of at least 0.5 cm and an internal diameter from 0.01 Fr to 30 Fr.   
     
     
         11 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 10 , further comprising an external termination device supported by the first segment. 
     
     
         12 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 11 , wherein the external termination device is configured as a Luer lock. 
     
     
         13 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 11 , wherein the external termination device is configured as a diaphragm. 
     
     
         14 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 10 , wherein the single tubular body includes an elastic coating to promote stability. 
     
     
         15 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 14 , wherein the single tubular body includes ridges to further promote stability.

         17 . An endovascular medical device comprising:
 a tubular member configured for positioning within a blood vessel, the tubular member defining a single lumen extending therethrough and including:   a first segment;   a second segment positioned distally of the first segment:   a first bend positioned between the first segment and the second segment, the first bend being configured such that the second segment is positionable in contact with an arch of the blood vessel to brace the endovascular medical device within the blood vessel and thereby resist recoil upon insertion of an instrument into the endovascular medical device;   a third segment positioned distally of the second segment;   a second bend positioned between the second segment and the third segment;   a fourth segment positioned distally of the third segment; and   a third bend positioned between the third segment and the fourth segment.   
     
     
         18 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 17 , wherein the first bend, the second bend, and the third bend are configured such that the tubular member includes a generally S-shaped configuration. 
     
     
         19 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 18 , wherein the first bend, the second bend, and the third bend are configured such that at least two of the first segment, the second segment, the third segment, and the fourth segment extend in opposing directions.

         21 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 17 , wherein the first segment defines a proximal end hole and the fourth segment defines a distal end hole.

The endovascular medical device of  claim 17 , wherein the first segment defines a length of at least 20 cm, the second segment defines a length between 3 cm and 35 cm, the third segment defines a length of at least 0.5 cm, and the fourth segment defines a length of at least 0.5 cm. 
     
     
         23 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 17 , wherein the first bend defines a curvature between 55 degrees and 125 degrees. 
     
     
         24 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 23 , wherein the second bend defines a curvature between 30 degrees and 150 degrees. 
     
     
         25 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 24 , wherein the third bend defines a curvature between 30 degrees and 150 degrees. 
     
     
         26 . An endovascular medical device configured for securement within a patient's vasculature, the endovascular medical device comprising:
 a tubular member defining a single lumen extending therethrough, the tubular member including:   a plurality of segments; and   a plurality of bends located between the plurality of segments, wherein at least one of the plurality of bends is configured such that one of the plurality of segments is positionable between a vascular arch and at least one additional vascular structure such that the vascular arch acts as a fulcrum to prevent recoil of the tubular member during insertion of an instrument therethrough.   
     
     
         27 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 26 , wherein the tubular member is configured for bracing against a lesser curvature of an aortic arch of the patient's vasculature. 
     
     
         28 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 26 , wherein the plurality of segments includes:
 a first segment defining a length of at least 20 cm;   a second segment defining a length between 3 cm and 35 cm;   a third segment defining a length of at least 0.5 cm; and   a fourth segment defining a length of at least 0.5 cm.   
     
     
         29 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 28 , wherein the plurality of bends includes:
 a first bend located between the first segment and the second segment, the first bend having a curvature between 55 degrees and 125 degrees;   a second bend located between the second segment and the third segment, the second bend having a curvature between 30 degrees and 150 degrees; and   a third bend located between the third segment and the fourth segment, the third bend having a curvature between 30 degrees and 150 degrees.   
     
     
         30 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 17 , wherein a portion of the tubular member is positioned in a descending aorta of a patient. 
     
     
         31 . The endovascular medical device of  claim 26 , wherein a portion of the tubular member is positioned in a descending aorta of a patient.
