Claims

Abstract

A percutaneous targeting device comprises a body holding an extension. The body has a target guide holding a target pin which may be a K-wire. The exten-sion has two guide sleeves, holding a guide wire. All wires are held in a common plane. The guide wires serve as a guide for cannulated fixation screws. The ex-tension is movable against the body to adjust the angle between the target pin and the guide wires.

1 . A percutaneous targeting device, comprising:
 a body holding an extension,   the body comprising a target guide having a target sleeve with a target sleeve channel configured for holding a target pin having a tip and being configured to be drilled into a bone,   the extension comprising a first guide sleeve having a first guide sleeve channel configured for holding a first guide wire and further including a second guide sleeve having a second guide sleeve channel configured for holding a second guide wire,   the target sleeve channel, the first guide sleeve channel, and the second guide sleeve channel are in a common plane, and the first guide sleeve channel and the second guide sleeve channel are parallel.   
     
     
         2 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the target sleeve is configured to hold the target pin in a fixed position relative to the target sleeve. 
     
     
         3 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the target sleeve is configured to allow for movement of the target pin within the sleeve. 
     
     
         4 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the target pin is a K-wire that extends axially through the target sleeve. 
     
     
         5 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the target sleeve channel is holding the target pin, the first guide sleeve channel is holding the first guide wire, and the second guide sleeve channel is holding the second guide wire. 
     
     
         6 . The targeting device according  claim 1 , wherein the target sleeve channel, the first guide sleeve channel, and the second guide sleeve channel are configured such that the intersection between the target pin and the first guide wire and the intersection between the target pin and the second guide wire is outside of the target sleeve. 
     
     
         7 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the first guide wire and the second guide wire have a tip and are configured to be drilled into a bone. 
     
     
         8 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the target pin or a guide wire have a diameter between 0.5 mm and 5 mm. 
     
     
         9 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the target pin is configured to contact the first guide wire at an intersect point. 
     
     
         10 . The targeting device according to  claim 9 , wherein the target pin is configured to contact the second guide wire in a circular target area in said common plane and centered on said intersect point. 
     
     
         11 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the body and the extension are arc-shaped. 
     
     
         12 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the body has a hollow opening. 
     
     
         13 . The targeting device according to  claim 12 , wherein a hook sleeve assembly comprising a positioning screw and a hook with a radial extension is at the target pin, and wherein the extension is configured to move within the body. 
     
     
         14 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the extension is configured to move relative to the body such that the angle between the target sleeve channel and the first guide sleeve channel changes while the first guide sleeve channel and the second guide sleeve channel remain parallel. 
     
     
         15 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the extension is configured to move relative to the body such that the point of intersection between the target pin and the first guide wire does not move. 
     
     
         16 . The targeting device according to  claim 1 , wherein an extension lock is configured to lock the device extension in a fixed relationship to the device body. 
     
     
         17 . A method comprising:
 placing a target pin in a part of a bone,   performing an osteotomy of the bone,   repositioning of a distal bone part with the target pin,   positioning of a targeting device on the target pin,   inserting a first guide wire through an attachment hole of the targeting device into the bone,   screwing a first cannulated fixation screw into the bone by using the first guide wire.   
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 17 , wherein the bone is a metatarsal bone and the part of the bone is a distal part of the metatarsal bone. 
     
     
         19 . The method according to  claim 17 , including:
 inserting a second guide wire through an attachment hole of the targeting device into the bone,   screwing a second cannulated fixation screw into the bone by using the second guide wire.   
     
     
         20 . The method according to  claim 17 , including:
 removing of the targeting device before screwing the first fixation screw into the bone.
