Abstract

An amusement device that uses a foot controlled jump pad input device that features a movable element on an upright display board that is tracked as moves in response to the foot-controlled input through a series of target segments that are illuminated to reflect their activation status.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. An amusement device comprising, a foot-controlled input device, a central controller, and a movable element on a upright display board that is adapted to respond to foot-controlled input, wherein said foot controlled input device comprises a flat jump pad and associated jump pad sensor, wherein in response to sensing pressure applied to said pad, a sensor transmits a signal to said central controller, and said central controller send a signal to cause said movable element to change locations on said display board.

. The amusement device recited in claim 1 further comprising a credit detector in communication with said central controller, an activation switch in communication with said controller, and an award dispenser in communication with said central controller wherein in response to the input of signals from said foot controlled input device, said movable display element can be moved to a designated target segment location, and when said movable element intersects said designated target segment location, a signal is transmitted to said to central controller to said award dispenser.

. The amusement device as recited in claim 2 wherein said input device comprising a jump pad and said jump pad further comprising a compressible chamber having an interior void, and an outlet passage, wherein when said chamber is compressed, air travels from said interior void through said outlet passage to create an airstream and changes in said airstream are detected by said jump pad sensor.

. The amusement device as recited in claim 2 wherein said jump pad sensor comprises a pivotable element that has a portion that can pivot into said airstream, a light source that directs light into a light path towards a light detector wherein and wherein a portion of said pivot element is positioned to pivot though said light path in response to changes of flow in said airstream.

. The amusement device of claim 4 further comprising a stabilizing handle adapted to be engaged by a user.

. The amusement device of claim 4 wherein said chamber comprise a top section having a top surface and top lateral sidewall extending downward, a bottom section with a bottom surface and bottom lateral sidewall extending upwards, and a compressible element that biases said top surface from said bottom surface, and said top lateral sidewall and said bottom lateral are adjacent to one another and in a sliding engagement arrangement, wherein jumping on said top surfaces compresses said chamber and forces air through said outlet passage.

. The amusement device as recited in claim 6 wherein said compressible element comprises a spring.

. The amusement device as recited in claim 2 wherein said display board is provided with a track, and said movable element travels on a sled along said track, and said sled attached to a belt which is driven by a motor, and in response to signals from said central controller, and sled traverses along said track and through a plurality of target segments on said display board.

. The amusement device of claim 8 further comprising a plurality target designator elements each associated with a target segment, said target designator elements comprising lights, and the activation of said lights controlled by said central controller and the status of said lights stored by a memory in communication with said central controller.

. The amusement device of claim 8 wherein said motor comprises a stepper motor, and the location of the said moveable element is determined by a signal associated with said stepper motor control input and stored in said memory, and at predetermined times, the controller compares the status of said target segment with the location of said movable display element.

. The amusement game of claim 8 wherein said moveable display element is further provided with a plurality of sensors to detect the location of said moveable element with respect to said upright display board and said target segments, and said information from said target designator status is correlated with the location of said movable element to determine whether to provide an award at designed times.

. The amusement game of claim 8 wherein the value of said target segments on said display are dynamic and the values of said target segments are controlled by said controller according to predetermined instructions and the location of said target segments that are activated is changed over time.

. The amusement game of claim 8 wherein said controller is configured to provide an award when said movable display element is correlated with a designated target segment for a predetermined time duration.

. The system of claim said controller is configured to provide an award when the movable display element is correlated with a designated target segment at a predetermined time.

. The amusement device of claim 1 further comprising an LED display that provides information relating to game conditions.

. The amusement device as recited in claim 15 further comprising an LED display on said upright display board to simulate a movable element in response to input from said foot controlled input device and said display further comprises target regions that are displayed on said LED display.

. The amusement game of claim 2 wherein said award dispenser is a ticket dispenser.
