Abstract

A wearable device comprises a tourniquet. The tourniquet comprises an inflatable chamber and is configured to occlude blood flow in an artery of a wearer. The wearable device comprises a compressed gas source. The wearable device comprises a valve. The valve comprises a valve input in fluid communication with the compressed gas source, and a valve output in fluid communication with the inflatable chamber. The wearable device comprises at least one fixed pressure regulator. Each fixed pressure regulator comprises a regulator output in direct fluid communication with the valve input, and a regulator input in direct fluid communication with the compressed gas source. Each fixed pressure regulator is configured to receive at least one compressed gas from the compressed gas source and regulate a pressure of the at least one compressed gas delivered to the valve. The wearable device comprises a switch. The switch is configured to operate the valve.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A wearable device comprising:
 a) a tourniquet comprising an inflatable chamber, the tourniquet configured to occlude blood flow in an artery of a wearer; b) a compressed gas source coupled to the tourniquet; c) a valve coupled to the tourniquet, the valve comprising:
 i) a valve input in fluid communication with the compressed gas source; and
 ii) a valve output in fluid communication with the inflatable chamber;
   d) at least one fixed pressure regulator, each fixed pressure regulator comprising:
 i) a regulator output in direct fluid communication with the valve input; and
 ii) a regulator input in direct fluid communication with the compressed gas source;
 each fixed pressure regulator configured to receive at least one compressed gas from the compressed gas source and regulate a pressure of the at least one compressed gas delivered to the valve; and
   e) a switch coupled to the valve, the switch configured to operate the valve after the tourniquet is fitted to the wearer.

         2 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the tourniquet is configured to be employed around at least one of the following locations:
 a) an arm;   b) a forearm;   c) an upper arm;   d) a leg;   e) a lower leg; or   f) an upper leg.

         3 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the tourniquet is configured to be employed as a junctional tourniquet at one of the following locations:
 a) a shoulder;   b) abdomen; or   c) a groin.

         4 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the inflatable chamber is coupled to a pressure release valve.

         5 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein each of the at least one fixed pressure regulator is set within a range of 6-10 PSI.

         6 . The device according to claim 1 , further comprising a check valve:
 a) in fluid communication with the inflatable chamber; and b) configured to prevent loss of at least a portion of the pressure in the inflatable chamber when pressurized.

         7 . The device according to claim 1 , further comprising a selector switch configured to cause selection of one of at least two fixed pressure regulators.

         8 . The device according to claim 1 , further comprising a manifold comprising the compressed gas source.

         9 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the device is packaged in at least one ballistic and fragmentation resistant material.
