Momument cap device comprising a circular lid and an adhering structure

Abstract

Various embodiments of a monument cap device are disclosed. The monument cap comprises a circular lid and an adhering structure for securing the device to a hole or receiving structure to protect the hole or receiving structure and to prevent lateral movement of the device. The adhering structure can comprise one or more circular sidewalls and/or a plurality of legs extending from the circular lid.

1 . A monument cap comprising:
 a circular lid with a first sidewall along its circumference;   a second sidewall protruding from a bottom face of the circular lid, the second sidewall having an outer diameter that is smaller than an outer diameter of the first sidewall;   a plurality of legs extending from the second sidewall for engaging with an opening; and   a plurality of brace members each extending between one of the plurality of legs and the bottom face.   
     
     
         2 . The monument cap of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of legs comprises a plurality of downward-facing teeth. 
     
     
         3 . The monument cap of  claim 2 , wherein each of the plurality of legs comprises ridges along its outer face. 
     
     
         4 . The monument cap of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of legs comprises ridges along its outer face. 
     
     
         5 . The monument cap of  claim 1 , wherein the monument cap is constructed of plastic. 
     
     
         6 . The monument cap of  claim 1 , wherein the monument cap is constructed of metal. 
     
     
         7 . The monument cap of  claim 1 , wherein the monument cap is constructed of a combination of plastic and metal. 
     
     
         8 . The monument cap of  claim 1 , wherein the monument cap is constructed of rubber. 
     
     
         9 . A monument cap, comprising:
 a circular lid with a first sidewall along its circumference;   a second sidewall protruding from a bottom face of the circular lid, the second sidewall having an outer diameter that is smaller than an outer diameter of the first sidewall; and   a third sidewall protruding from the second sidewall, the third sidewall having an outer diameter that is smaller than the outer diameter of the second sidewall.   
     
     
         10 . The monument cap of  claim 9 , wherein the third sidewall is approximately 2 inches in height. 
     
     
         11 . The monument cap of  claim 9 , wherein the circular lid has a thickness of approximately 0.2 inches. 
     
     
         12 . The monument cap of  claim 9 , wherein the first sidewall contains a groove. 
     
     
         13 . The monument cap of  claim 12 , wherein the second sidewall comprises ridges along its circumference. 
     
     
         14 . The monument cap of  claim 12 , wherein the third sidewall comprises ridges along its circumference. 
     
     
         15 . The monument cap of  claim 9 , wherein the second sidewall comprises ridges along its circumference. 
     
     
         16 . The monument cap of  claim 9 , wherein the third sidewall comprises ridges along its circumference. 
     
     
         17 . The monument cap of  claim 9 , wherein the monument cap is constructed of plastic.
