Anti-fatigue rug with separable resilient cushion system and method
Abstract
A system includes a pad, a high-friction surface connected to the pad, a slip-resistant surface connected to the pad, and a rug engageable with the high-friction surface. The rug is selectively dis-engageable to the pad for laundering of the rug. The pad and/or rug can also include fasteners to engage the rug to a floor or other surface underlying the pad or to the pad, itself, as applicable. The fasteners can be an adhesive polyurethane gel gripper connecting the rug to the floor or high-friction surface of the pad, as applicable. The fasteners can additionally or alternatively be hook and loop type fasteners connecting the rug and the floor or high-friction surface of the pad, as applicable. The hooks of the hook and loop type fastener may be embedded in the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper. In alternatives, loops may be embedded in the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper. The floor or, if applicable the high-friction surface, as the case may be, may include or comprise an adhesive polyurethane gel gripper and/or a hook and loop type fastener, to retain the rug in relation to the floor and pad to avoid shift, curl, or movement of the rug. The slip-resistant surface of the pad retains the rug and pad relatively free of shift or movement on a floor. The rug and attachment system can be used with or without the pad.

1 . A system for a floor, comprising:
a rug; loops connected to the rug; and hooks connected to the floor.
2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a sticky gel embedding the hooks.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the loops are connected to an underside of the rug either of: at corners, along peripheral edges, and combinations of these.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the hooks are connected to the floor in correspondence with the loops connected to an underside of the rug either of: at corners, along peripheral edges, and combinations of these.
5 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the sticky gel forms a gasket for water barrier.
6 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a pad having a top of a high-friction surface and a bottom of a slip-resistant surface, the rug connects to the top; wherein the rug frictionally engages with the high-friction surface.
7 . The system of claim 6 , further comprising:
a sticky gel embedding the hooks.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the sticky gel forms a gasket for water barrier.
9 . A system, comprising:
a pad having a top of a high-friction surface and a bottom of a slip-resistant surface; and a rug for friction engagement with the top of the pad; wherein the pad is restricted from shifting by the slip-resistant surface and the rug is restricted from shifting on the pad when frictionally engaged.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the rug may be desirably separated from friction engagement with the pad.
11 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising:
a segment of an adhesive polyurethane gel gripper connected to an underlying surface on which the rug sits, when the rug is engaged atop the pad.
12 . The system of claim 11 , further comprising:
a loop segment of a hook and loop type fastener connected to the rug, respectively; a hook segment of the hook and loop type fastener connected to the underlying surface on which the pad sits, the hook segment in vicinity to connect the loop segment of the rug when the rug is engaged atop the pad sitting on the surface.
13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper embeds the hooks of the hook segment.
14 . The system of 9 , further comprising:
a plurality of segments of adhesive polyurethane gel gripper connected to an underlying surface to contact an underside of the rug when the rug is engaged atop the pad.
15 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising:
a loop segment of a hook and loop type fastener connected to the rug, respectively; a hook segment of the hook and loop type fastener connected to an underlying surface on which the pad sits, the hook segment in vicinity to connect the loop segment of the rug when the rug is engaged atop the pad sitting on the surface.
16 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising:
a loop segment of a hook and loop type fastener connected to the rug, respectively; a hook segment of the hook and loop type fastener connected to an underlying surface on which the pad sits, the hook segment in vicinity to connect the loop segment of the rug when the rug is engaged atop the pad sitting on the surface; and a segment of an adhesive polyurethane gel gripper connected to the rug when the rug is engaged atop the pad.
17 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the hooks of the fastener are embedded in the segment of the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper.
18 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper shields the hooks of the fastener.
19 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper shields the hooks of the fastener.
20 . A system, comprising:
a pad; a high-friction surface connected to the pad; a slip-resistant surface connected to the pad; and a rug engageable with the high-friction surface.
21 . The system of claim 20 , wherein the rug is retained to the pad until removal is desired.
22 . The system of claim 20 , further comprising:
an adhesive polyurethane gel gripper connecting the rug to a surface underlying the pad.
23 . The system of claim 20 , further comprising:
a hook and loop fastener connecting the rug to a surface underlying the pad.
24 . The system of claim 22 , further comprising:
a hook and loop fastener connecting the rug to the surface underlying the pad; wherein the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper embeds hooks of the hook and loop fastener.
25 . The system of claim 22 , wherein the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper serves as a gasket to prevent water ingress.
26 . The system of claim 22 ,
wherein the rug is launderable; and wherein cleaning revives adhesiveness of the adhesive polyurethane gel gripper.
27 . A method, comprising:
molding a foam pad with lead-in slope and central planar surface on a top of the pad and a generally smooth planar surface on a bottom of the pad; blanketing at least a portion of the foam pad with a water-resistant outer layer; forming a high-friction surface on the top of the pad; and providing a slip-resistant surface on the bottom of the pad.
28 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the high-friction surface is spray applied to the top of the pad.
29 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the slip-resistant surface is also the water-resistant outer layer on the bottom of the pad.
30 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising:
providing a fastener to the rug for engagement to a surface underlying the pad.
31 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising:
providing a fastener to the top of the pad for engagement to the rug.
32 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising:
connecting a first fastener of a hook and loop fastener to the rug; and embedding hooks of the hook and loop fastener in an adhesive polyurethane gel.
