Beverage system
Abstract
A beverage system is provided that includes a cup having a frustoconical wall extending from a first end to a second end. The first end is coupled to a bottom wall and the second end defines a rim. Inner surfaces of the walls define a cavity. The rim defines an opening that is in communication with the cavity. A lid is coupled to the rim such that the lid covers at least a portion of the opening. A sleeve includes a collar that surrounds a portion of the frustoconical wall. The sleeve includes first and second arms. The arms each include a first end coupled to the collar and an opposite second end. The second end of the first arm directly engages the lid. The second end of the second arm directly engages the second end of the first arm when the second end of the first arm directly engages the lid to prevent the lid from being removed from the cup.

The beverage system recited in claim 21 , wherein the end wall includes opposite inner and outer surfaces, the inner surface of the end wall being continuous with the inner surface of the body, the outer surface of the end wall being continuous with the outer surface of the body, the outer surface of the end wall facing the opening when the end wall is positioned over the opening.
26 . The beverage system recited in claim 21 , wherein the end wall is free of any openings.
27 . The beverage system recited in claim 21 , wherein at least a portion of the end wall comprises an adhesive material.
28 . The beverage system recited in claim 21 , wherein at least a portion of the peripheral edge comprises an elastic material.
29 . A beverage system comprising:
a cup comprising a side wall extending from a first end to a second end, the first end being coupled to a bottom wall and the second end defining a rim, inner surfaces of the walls defining a first cavity, the rim defining an opening that is in communication with the first cavity; and a cap comprising a body having an end wall and a peripheral edge opposite the end wall, the body including opposite inner and outer surfaces, wherein the end wall is positioned directly over the opening and the peripheral edge is folded over the cup such that the peripheral edge engages the side wall, and an outer surface of the side wall and the outer surface of the body define a second cavity having a portion of the cup enclosed therein.
30 . The beverage system recited in claim 29 , wherein any liquid in the first cavity that moves through the opening will be contained within the second cavity.
31 . The beverage system recited in claim 29 , wherein the portion of the cup enclosed in the second cavity includes the rim and the opening.
32 . The beverage system recited in claim 29 , wherein the end wall includes opposite inner and outer surfaces, the inner surface of the end wall being continuous with the inner surface of the body, the outer surface of the end wall facing the opening when the end wall is positioned over the opening.
33 . The beverage system recited in claim 29 , wherein the end wall includes opposite inner and outer surfaces, the inner surface of the end wall being continuous with the inner surface of the body, the outer surface of the end wall being continuous with the outer surface of the body, the outer surface of the end wall facing the opening when the end wall is positioned over the opening.
34 . The beverage system recited in claim 29 , wherein the end wall is free of any openings.
35 . The beverage system recited in claim 29 , wherein at least a portion of the end wall comprises an adhesive material.
36 . The beverage system recited in claim 29 , wherein at least a portion of the peripheral edge comprises an elastic material.
37 . A beverage system consisting of:
a cup comprising a side wall extending from a first end to a second end, the first end being coupled to a bottom wall and the second end defining a rim, inner surfaces of the walls defining a first cavity, the rim defining an opening that is in communication with the first cavity; and a cap comprising a body having an end wall and a peripheral edge opposite the end wall, the body including opposite inner and outer surfaces, wherein the end wall is positioned directly over the opening and the peripheral edge is folded over the cup such that the peripheral edge engages the side wall, and an outer surface of the side wall and the outer surface of the body define a second cavity having a portion of the cup enclosed therein, and wherein any liquid in the first cavity that moves through the opening will be contained within the second cavity.
