Abstract
Systems and methods of evaluating rules. Other embodiments are also described.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . An apparatus comprising:
a memory; at least one processor to: receive a plurality of trading rules, the trading rules comprising conditions, each condition further comprising an attribute, a value, and an operator that describes a relationship between the attribute and the value, generate, in the memory, a multi-dimensional matrix; store the plurality of trading rules in the multi-dimensional matrix; receive real-time market data via a network interface; query the multi-dimensional matrix; identify a subset of the plurality of trading rules that are satisfied by the real-time market data; evaluate independent trading rules of the subset in parallel; ignore trading rules of the subset that are redundant; and execute an electronic trading operation based at least partially on whether the real-time market data satisfies the subset of the plurality of trading rules.
3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , in which the at least one processor is configured to cause the apparatus to form groups of conditions by combining portions of respective conditions.
4 . The apparatus of claim 2 , in which the at least one processor is configured to execute the query using a binary search operation.
5 . The apparatus of claim 2 , in which the query provides an indication of which respective condition is met by the real-time market data and which respective condition is not met by the real-time market data.
6 . The apparatus of claim 2 , in which to receive the real-time market data the at least one processor is configured to receive an indication of the real-time market data periodically.
7 . The apparatus of claim 2 , in which to evaluate the independent trading rules the at least one processor is configured to evaluate the trading rules as the real-time market data is received, evaluate the trading rules periodically, and continuously evaluate the trading rules.
8 . The apparatus of claim 2 , in which: the at least one processor is configured to maintain a mapping between each respective value and each respective operator in the trading rules.
9 . The apparatus of claim 8 , in which to evaluate the trading rules the at least one processor is further configured to reconstruct the plurality of trading rules based on the mapping.
10 . The apparatus of claim 2 , in which the electronic trading operation further comprises at least one of an adjustment of an order for a purchase of a financial instrument, and an adjustment of an order for a sale of a financial instrument.
11 . A method of evaluating trading rules, the method comprising:
receiving, by at least one processor, a plurality of trading rules, the trading rules comprising conditions, each condition further comprising an attribute, a value, and an operator that describes a relationship between the attribute and the value, generating, by the at least one processor, a multi-dimensional matrix in a memory; storing, by the at least one processor, the plurality of trading rules in the multi-dimensional matrix; receiving, by the at least one processor, real-time market data via a network interface; querying, by the at least one processor, the multi-dimensional matrix; identifying, by the at least one processor, a subset of the plurality of trading rules that are satisfied by the real-time market data; evaluating, by the at least one processor, independent trading rules of the subset in parallel; ignoring, by the at least one processor, trading rules of the subset that are redundant; and executing, by the at least one processor, an electronic trading operation based at least partially on whether the real-time market data satisfies the subset of the plurality of trading rules.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising sorting, by the at least one processor, the conditions by operator and value.
13 . The method of claim 11 , in which receiving the real-time market data includes at least one of: the at least one processor periodically receiving the real-time market data, continuously receiving the real-time market data, and receiving an indication of the real-time market data.
14 . The method of claim 11 , in which evaluating conditions includes at least one of the at least one processor evaluating the conditions as the real-time market data is received, evaluating the conditions periodically, and continuously evaluating the conditions.
15 . The method of claim 11 , in which the electronic trading operation further comprises at least one of an adjustment of an order for a purchase of a financial instrument, and an adjustment of an order for a sale of a financial instrument.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
