Thin-form nightguard

Abstract

A thin-form mouthguard can be formed from a U-shape planar sheet. The sheet can be made of expanded-polytetrafluoroethylene and have a thickness between 0.02 inches and 0.25 inches. The sheet can also include instructions for modification of the mouthguard printed thereon. A method for preparing a mouthguard is also provided.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A thin-form nightguard consisting of a U-shape planar sheet, the sheet consisting essentially of expanded-polytetrafluoroethylene and having a thickness between 0.02 inches and 0.25 inches, the sheet further comprising instructions for modification of the nightguard printed thereon. 
     
     
         2 . The nightguard of  claim 1 , wherein the nightguard comprises chamfers or rounding on inner corner of the arms of the U-shape. 
     
     
         3 . The nightguard of  claim 1 , wherein the nightguard is configured to be trimmed with scissors. 
     
     
         4 . The nightguard of  claim 3 , wherein the instructions indicate suggested places to trim the nightguard to better fit a user's mouth and teeth. 
     
     
         5 . The nightguard of  claim 4 , wherein the instructions suggest trimming the arms of the nightguard to fit between a user's cheeks. 
     
     
         6 . The nightguard of  claim 4 , wherein the instructions suggest trimming the nightguard around bite mark imprints made by the user's teeth. 
     
     
         7 . The nightguard of  claim 6 , wherein the instructions suggest trimming the nightguard around the entire perimeter of the bite mark imprints made by the user's teeth. 
     
     
         8 . The nightguard of  claim 4 , wherein the instructions include dashed or dotted lines indicating suggested places to trim. 
     
     
         9 . The nightguard of  claim 1 , the sheet consisting of expanded-polytetrafluoroethylene. 
     
     
         10 . A thin-form nightguard consisting of a U-shape planar sheet, the sheet consisting of expanded-polytetrafluoroethylene and having a thickness between 0.02 inches and 0.25 inches. 
     
     
         11 . The nightguard of  claim 10 , wherein the nightguard comprises chamfer or rounding on inner corner of the arms of the U-shape. 
     
     
         12 . The nightguard of  claim 10 , wherein the nightguard is configured to be trimmed with scissors.
