Abstract

Embodiments of a breast pump kit are disclosed herein. The breast pump kit can include one or more of a breast pump shield and a breast pump milk bag. According to various embodiments, the breast pump shield can include a body portion that has a breast engagement portion that can receive at least a portion of a breast of a user. The breast pump shield also can include a suction chamber located in proximity to the breast engagement portion. Milk can pass into the suction chamber and into the breast pump milk bag. A one-way valve can prevent reverse flow of fluids from the breast pump milk bag into the breast pump shield. The breast pump kit also can include a cover that can seal the breast pump shield, if desired.

1 . A breast pump milk bag comprising:
 a bag;   a one-way valve located inside the bag, wherein the one-way valve comprises two flaps, wherein the bag is configured to receive milk via the one-way valve; and   a cover assembly at the bag, wherein the cover assembly comprises a valve bypass having a passageway, wherein the valve bypass is configured to be selectively inserted through the two flaps of the one-way valve to open the one-way valve, whereby fluid can selectively flow out of the bag through the passageway.   
     
     
         2 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 1 , wherein the one-way valve comprises a duckbill valve. 
     
     
         3 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 2 , wherein the bag is leak resistant and spill resistant. 
     
     
         4 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 1 , wherein the cover assembly further comprises:
 a cover engagement portion having a nozzle; and   a nozzle cover.   
     
     
         5 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 4 , wherein the nozzle cover comprises a nozzle seal that is configured to seal the passageway. 
     
     
         6 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 5 , wherein the nozzle cover and the nozzle cooperate when closed together to form a hermetic seal for the bag. 
     
     
         7 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 1 , wherein insertion of the valve bypass through the two flaps of the one-way valve causes the two flaps of the one-way valve to be pushed away from each other, thereby opening the one-way valve. 
     
     
         8 . A breast pump milk bag comprising:
 a bag;   a one-way valve located inside the bag, wherein the one-way valve comprises two flaps, wherein the bag is configured to receive milk via the one-way valve; and   a cover assembly connected to the bag, wherein the cover assembly comprises a valve bypass having a passageway, wherein the valve bypass is configured to be selectively inserted through the two flaps of the one-way valve to open the one-way valve, whereby fluid can selectively flow out of the bag through the passageway and through the one-way valve.   
     
     
         9 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 8 , wherein the one-way valve comprises a duckbill valve. 
     
     
         10 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 9 , wherein the bag is leak resistant and spill resistant. 
     
     
         11 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 8 , wherein the cover assembly further comprises:
 a cover engagement portion having a nozzle; and   a nozzle cover.   
     
     
         12 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 11 , wherein the nozzle cover comprises a nozzle seal that is configured to seal the passageway. 
     
     
         13 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 12 , wherein the nozzle cover and the nozzle cooperate when closed together to form a hermetic seal for the bag. 
     
     
         14 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 8 , wherein insertion of the valve bypass through the two flaps of the one-way valve causes the two flaps of the one-way valve to be pushed away from each other, thereby opening the one-way valve. 
     
     
         15 . A breast pump milk bag comprising:
 a bag;   a one-way valve located inside an opening of the bag, wherein the one-way valve comprises two flaps, wherein the bag is configured to receive milk via the one-way valve; and   a cover assembly connected to the bag, wherein the cover assembly comprises a valve bypass having a passageway, wherein the valve bypass is configured to be selectively inserted through the two flaps of the one-way valve to open the one-way valve, whereby fluid can selectively flow out of the bag through the passageway and through the one-way valve, and wherein the cover assembly comprises a cover that is configured to seal the cover assembly.   
     
     
         16 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 15 , wherein the one-way valve comprises a duckbill valve. 
     
     
         17 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 16 , wherein the bag is leak resistant and spill resistant. 
     
     
         18 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 15 , wherein the cover assembly further comprises:
 a cover engagement portion having a nozzle; and   a nozzle cover.   
     
     
         19 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 18 , wherein the nozzle cover and the nozzle cooperate when closed together to form a hermetic seal for the bag. 
     
     
         20 . The breast pump milk bag of  claim 15 , wherein insertion of the valve bypass through the two flaps of the one-way valve causes the two flaps of the one-way valve to be pushed away from each other, thereby opening the one-way valve.
