Abstract
Herein described is a rod holder assembly that holds an object such as a rod receiver for a fishing rod in a desired orientation that is manually and singlehandedly adjustable about the horizontal and/or vertical axes. The rod holder assembly can be set to lock in positional orientation or clutch in response to an external force. A method for using the rod holder assembly is also described.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 30 . (canceled)
31 . A method for attaching and adjusting the orientation of a rod receiver comprising the steps of:
providing a rod holder assembly comprising a rod receiver, a base, a collar, and a clamp assembly comprising a fixed clamping arm and a pivoting clamping arm; inserting said base between said fixed clamping arm and pivoting clamping arm; maneuvering said collar to a point where it engages said clamping assembly and applies pressure to said pivoting clamping arm closing said clamping arm about said base; adjusting the rod receiver to the desired orientation; and rotating said collar to tighten said pivoting clamping arm about said base to engage said clamp assembly.
32 . The method of claim 31 ,
wherein said collar further comprises an interior face comprising a groove, wherein said groove comprises a clutch position depression and a lock position depression; and wherein said pivoting clamping arm further comprises an exterior face, wherein said exterior face comprises a tab.
33 . The method of claim 31 further comprising the step of rotating the collar to a point where tab is engaged with clutch position depression.
34 . The method of claim 31 further comprising the step of rotating the collar to a point where tab is engaged to lock position depression.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
