Cleaning device
Abstract
Methods and apparatus for cleaning a surface with a cleaning device having a body with a handle, a connector, and one or more cleaning heads that are removably attached to the cleaning device. Each cleaning head include a lower surface arranged to contact a surface to be cleaned and a dirt collection chamber permanently attached to the cleaning head. The cleaning head may include a support structure to support the dirt collection chamber and a cleaning sheet. The cleaning head also may include a suction nozzle. At least a portion of the dirt collection chamber may be made of a filter material.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A cleaning assembly, comprising:
a cleaning device having a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and a connector head; a replacement head configured to removably mate to the connector head, the replacement head having housing with a suction inlet and a chamber configured to receive debris from the suction inlet, and a cleaning sheet coupled to the housing and configured to contact a surface to be cleaned, the housing and the connector head having substantially the same width.
2 . The cleaning assembly of claim 1 , wherein the replacement head includes at least one engagement feature configured to mate with a corresponding engagement feature on the connector head of the cleaning device.
3 . The cleaning assembly of claim 1 , wherein the replacement head includes a portion defining an opening and configured to couple to a vacuum source on the cleaning device to allow a vacuum force to be applied through the opening to the dirt collection chamber to draw debris into the dirt collection chamber.
4 . The cleaning assembly of claim 3 , wherein the replacement head includes a filter extending across the opening for allowing a vacuum force to be applied to the dirt collection chamber while retaining debris within the dirt collection chamber.
5 . The cleaning assembly of claim 1 , wherein an opening of the suction inlet is aligned with an edge of the cleaning sheet.
6 . The cleaning assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cleaning device includes a spray nozzle thereon for delivering fluid to a surface to be cleaned.
7 . The cleaning assembly of claim 1 , wherein the replacement head includes at least one engagement feature configured to mate with a corresponding engagement feature on the connector head of the cleaning device.
8 . The cleaning assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cleaning device includes a release mechanism for releasing the replacement head from the cleaning device.
9 . The cleaning assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cleaning sheet is directly attached to the replacement head.
10 . The cleaning assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cleaning sheet is planar.
11 . A cleaning assembly, comprising:
a cleaning device having a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, a body having a vacuum source, and a connector head; and a replacement head configured to removably mate to the connector head, the replacement head including a dirt collection chamber therein for receiving and retaining debris, and a cleaning sheet for contacting a surface to be cleaned, wherein the cleaning sheet and the connector head having substantially the same width.
12 . The cleaning assembly of claim 11 , wherein the replacement head includes a portion defining an opening and configured to couple to the vacuum source on the cleaning device to allow a vacuum force to be applied through the opening to the dirt collection chamber to draw debris into the dirt collection chamber.
13 . The cleaning assembly of claim 12 , wherein the replacement head includes a filter extending across the opening for allowing a vacuum force to be applied to the dirt collection chamber while retaining debris within the dirt collection chamber.
14 . The cleaning assembly of claim 11 , wherein the replacement head includes at least one engagement feature configured to mate with a corresponding engagement feature on the connector head of the cleaning device.
15 . The cleaning assembly of claim 11 , wherein the cleaning sheet is directly attached to the replacement head.
16 . The cleaning assembly of claim 11 , wherein the cleaning device includes a spray nozzle thereon for delivering fluid to a surface to be cleaned.
17 . The cleaning assembly of claim 11 , wherein the cleaning sheet is planar.
18 . The cleaning assembly of claim 11 , further comprising a release mechanism on the connector head for releasing the replacement head from the cleaning device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
