Abstract

An insect free pet feeder system includes a feeder assembly having a base, a water cavity, a pet food cavity, a bowl insert, and a water bottle. The feeder assembly includes the base, the water cavity, the pet food cavity, the bowl insert, and the water bottle creating a unitary structure. The base supports the water cavity, the pet food cavity, the bowl insert, and the water bottle. The water cavity surrounds the pet food cavity. The bowl insert is supported within the pet food cavity. The water bottle is provided to replenish the water cavity with water and maintain a water level. The water cavity creates a moat barrier between insects and pet food stored in the bowl insert located within the pet food cavity and ensures pets have access to clean, insect free food.

Claims

What is claimed:

         1 . A pet feeder assembly comprising:
a base; a water cavity located in the base and having a circumferential edge and a fill line; a food cavity supported above the base inside the water cavity with a moat barrier disposed between the water cavity edge and having an outer rim disposed above the fill line; and a water bottle secured to the water cavity.

2 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 1 , wherein the food cavity receives a removable bowl.

3 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 2 , wherein the water bottle threads to the water cavity.

4 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 3 , wherein the water bottle comprises a water release valve.

5 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 4 , wherein the outer rim of the food cavity and an outer rim of the water cavity are disposed the same distance above the ground.

6 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 5 , wherein the food cavity is supported within the water cavity by a support member.

7 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 6 , wherein the support member supports the water bottle.

8 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 1 , wherein the water bottle threads to the water cavity.

9 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 8 , wherein the water bottle comprises a water release valve.

10 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 9 , wherein the outer rim of the food cavity and an outer rim of the water cavity are disposed the same distance above the ground.

11 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 10 , wherein the food cavity is supported within the water cavity by a support member.

12 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 11 , wherein the support member supports the water bottle.

13 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 1 , wherein the water bottle comprises a water release valve.

14 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 13 , wherein the outer rim of the food cavity and an outer rim of the water cavity are disposed the same distance above the ground.

15 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 14 , wherein the food cavity is supported within the water cavity by a support member.

16 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 1 , wherein the outer rim of the food cavity and an outer rim of the water cavity are disposed the same distance above the ground.

17 . The insect free pet feeder system of claim 16 , wherein the food cavity is supported within the water cavity by a support member.

         18 . A feeding method comprising:
 providing a feeding assembly having
 a base,
a water cavity located in the base and having a circumferential edge and a fill line,
a food cavity supported above the base inside the water cavity with a moat barrier disposed between the water cavity edge and having an outer rim disposed above the fill line,
 and
 a water bottle secured to the water cavity;
filling the assembly with food and water; and placing the assembly within reach of the pet.
