Abstract

Methods and apparatus for cleaning a surface with a cleaning device having a body with a handle, a connector, and one or more cleaning heads that are removably attached to the cleaning device. Each cleaning head include a lower surface arranged to contact a surface to be cleaned and a dirt collection chamber permanently attached to the cleaning head. The cleaning head may include a support structure to support the dirt collection chamber and a cleaning sheet. The cleaning head also may include a suction nozzle. At least a portion of the dirt collection chamber may be made of a filter material.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A method for cleaning, comprising:
manipulating a cleaning device to advance a first cleaning sheet along a surface to be cleaned; removing the first cleaning sheet from a first cleaning head attached to the cleaning device, the first cleaning head having a non-removable dust chamber therein; applying a second cleaning sheet to the first cleaning head; manipulating the cleaning device to advance the second cleaning sheet along a surface to be cleaned; removing the first cleaning head with the second cleaning sheet attached thereto; discarding the second cleaning sheet.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein discarding the second cleaning sheet further comprises discarding the first cleaning head with the second cleaning sheet attached thereto.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising, prior to manipulating, attaching the first cleaning head with the first cleaning sheet attached thereto to the cleaning device.

4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein attaching the first cleaning head to the cleaning device comprises causing at least one engagement member on the cleaning device to engage at least one corresponding engagement member on the first cleaning head.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein removing the first cleaning head comprises actuating a release mechanism on the cleaning device to release the first cleaning head from the cleaning device.

6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein manipulating the cleaning device comprises actuating the cleaning device to apply a cleaning liquid the surface to be cleaned.

7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first cleaning head includes a first suction opening having a valve that allows debris to flow into the dust chamber and that prevents debris from escaping the dust chamber.

8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein manipulating the cleaning device comprises actuating the cleaning device to apply a vacuum source to the dust chamber.

9 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the first cleaning head includes a filter that allows the vacuum source to apply a vacuum force to the dust chamber to draw debris into the dust chamber, while preventing debris from flowing to the vacuum source.

         10 . A method for cleaning, comprising:
manipulating a cleaning device to deliver a fluid source to a surface to be cleaned while advancing a first cleaning sheet along the surface to be cleaned; removing the first cleaning sheet from a first cleaning head attached to the cleaning device, the first cleaning head having a dust chamber therein; applying a second cleaning sheet to the first cleaning head; manipulating the cleaning device to advance the second cleaning sheet along a surface to be cleaned; removing the first cleaning head with the second cleaning sheet attached thereto; discarding the second cleaning sheet.

11 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein discarding the second cleaning sheet further comprises discarding the first cleaning head with the second cleaning sheet attached thereto.

12 . The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising, prior to manipulating, attaching the first cleaning head with the first cleaning sheet attached thereto to the cleaning device.

13 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein attaching the first cleaning head to the cleaning device comprises causing at least one engagement member on the cleaning device to engage at least one corresponding engagement member on the first cleaning head.

14 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein removing the first cleaning head comprises actuating a release mechanism on the cleaning device to release the first cleaning head from the cleaning device.

15 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein manipulating the cleaning device comprises actuating the cleaning device to apply a cleaning liquid the surface to be cleaned.

16 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the first cleaning head includes a first suction opening having a valve that allows debris to flow into the dust chamber and that prevents debris from escaping the dust chamber.

17 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein manipulating the cleaning device comprises actuating the cleaning device to apply a vacuum source to the dust chamber.

18 . The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the first cleaning head includes a filter that allows the vacuum source to apply a vacuum force to the dust chamber to draw debris into the dust chamber, while preventing debris from flowing to the vacuum source.
