Bag holder

Abstract

A shaped elongate strap enables a plastic grocery bag to be used for trash disposal in a vehicle. It has a shaped headrest post-gripping top portion at one end and forward and rearward grocery bag handle grips at the other end. The ends are connected by a flexible corrugated strip. The orientation of the corrugations and the spacing of the grips keep the strap from twisting and the grips forward of the back of the seat.

         9 . A bag holder, comprising:
 a seat top portion configured to be disposed along a top of a vehicle seat below a headrest;   a flexible middle portion connected to the seat top portion and configured to be disposed over a shoulder of the vehicle seat; and   a seat side portion connected to the flexible middle portion and configured to be disposed vertically along a side of the vehicle seat,   wherein the seat side portion comprises a front hook part and a rear hook part, the front hook part and rear hook part configured to removably secure handles of a bag.   
     
     
         10 . The bag holder of  claim 9 , wherein the seat top portion comprises a first headrest post slot and a second headrest post slot, and
 wherein the first headrest post slot is configured to engage a first headrest support post and the second headrest post slot is configured to engage a second headrest support post to secure the bag holder to the vehicle seat.   
     
     
         11 . The bag holder of  claim 10 , wherein the first headrest post slot comprises a substantially obround hole disposed along the seat top portion and a first access slot, and
 wherein the seat top portion is configured to be mounted to the first headrest support post by pushing the seat top portion toward the first headrest support post through the first access slot thus connecting a forward edge of the seat top portion to the substantially obround hole.   
     
     
         12 . The bag holder of  claim 11 , wherein the substantially obround hole extends parallel to the forward edge of the seat top portion. 
     
     
         13 . The bag holder of  claim 11 , wherein the second headrest post slot comprises a V-shaped cavity in the seat top portion, the V-shaped cavity having flexible tabs. 
     
     
         14 . The bag holder of  claim 13 , wherein the V-shaped cavity begins with an entryway on a rearward edge of the seat top portion and extends to a second headrest post collar which partially encircles the second headrest support post,
 wherein the seat top portion is configured to be mounted to the second headrest support post by sliding the seat top portion parallel with the forward edge and the rearward edge of the seat top portion while maintaining the first headrest support post within the substantially obround hole until the second headrest support post is proximate to the entryway to the V-shaped cavity and then snapping around the second headrest post collar by pulling the seat top portion towards the second headrest support post until the second headrest support post pops through the flexible tabs.   
     
     
         15 . The bag holder of  claim 9 , wherein the flexible middle portion comprises a concatenation of parallel semi-cylindrical corrugations. 
     
     
         16 . The bag holder of  claim 9 , wherein the flexible middle portion comprises a concatenation of parallel semi-cylindrical corrugations, the front hook part comprises a first hook hole having a first center, and the rear hook part comprises a second hook hole having a second center, and
 wherein an angle in a vertical plane between the corrugations and a horizontal plane containing the line joining the first center and the second center is an acute non-zero angle and wherein the vertex of the acute non-zero angle faces rearward.   
     
     
         17 . The bag holder of  claim 9 , wherein the flexible middle portion is more flexible in a direction following a contour of the shoulder of the vehicle seat as compared to a direction perpendicular to the contour of the shoulder. 
     
     
         18 . The bag holder of  claim 9 , wherein the front hook part and the rear hook part are configured to secure the handles of the bag in such a way as to hold the a first handle of the handles apart from a second handle to the handles and prevent the bag from being inadvertently dislodged by motion of a vehicle or activity of a passenger. 
     
     
         19 . The bag holder of  claim 9 , wherein the front hook part and the rear hook part each comprise a funnel portion, the funnel portion configured to serve as a guide for inserting a rear and front handle of a waste bag into the seat side portion. 
     
     
         20 . The bag holder of  claim 9 , wherein the front hook part and the rear hook part each comprise a funnel portion, a nip, and a teardrop hole, and wherein insertion of the bag into one of the front and rear hook part comprises pulling down on one handle of the bag to force the handle of the bag through the nip and into the teardrop hole.
