Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 20 . (canceled)

21 . An adhesive label comprising:
a substrate; an adhesive region comprising an adhesive on a first side of the substrate, wherein the adhesive region comprising three portions of the first side, each region separated by a void region that is devoid of any of the adhesive, wherein the void region is a single continuous void region and wherein the three portions of the adhesive region are discontinuous; and a print layer on a second side of the substrate.

22 . The adhesive label of claim 21 , wherein a first portion of the adhesive region covers a first area of the first side and a second portion of the adhesive region covers a second area of the first side, wherein the first area and the second area are equal in a size of surface area.

23 . The adhesive label of claim 22 , wherein a third portion of the adhesive region covers a third area of the first side, and wherein the third area is less than the size of the surface area.

24 . The adhesive label of claim wherein the third portion is located in a center of the first side.

25 . The adhesive label of claim 24 , wherein the first portion covers a leftmost top, a leftmost edge, and leftmost bottom of the first side, and wherein the second portion covers a rightmost top, a rightmost edge, and rightmost bottom of the first side.

26 . The adhesive label of claim 25 , wherein the void region covers a larger size of the first side than does the third portion.

27 . The adhesive label of claim 21 , wherein the void region surrounds a third portion of the three portions of the adhesive region.

28 . The adhesive label of claim 27 , wherein the void region separates a first portion of the three portions of the adhesive region from both a second portion of the three portions of the adhesive region and the third portion of the three portions of the adhesive region.

29 . The adhesive label of claim 28 , wherein the void region extends from a top of the third portion of the three portions of the adhesive region to a top-center portion of the first side.

30 . The adhesive label of claim 29 , wherein the void region further extends from a bottom of the third portion of the three portions of the adhesive region to a bottom-center portion of the first side.

31 . The adhesive label of claim 30 , wherein the print layer comprises at least one thermally sensitive coating that is activated to provide custom imaging on selective portions of the second side by a direct thermal printer or a thermal transfer ribbon of a thermal transfer printer.

32 . A roll of adhesive labels, comprising:
a web of a substrate; the substrate comprises a plurality of individually defined labels; each label comprising:
a first side comprising an adhesive region that includes an adhesive, wherein the adhesive region comprising three discontinuous portions separated by a void region that is devoid of any of the adhesive, and wherein the void region is continuous; and
a second side comprising a print layer.

33 . The roll of adhesive labels of claim 32 , wherein a first discontinuous portion of the three discontinuous portions is located on a leftmost top, a leftmost side, and a leftmost bottom of the first side.

34 . The roll of adhesive labels of claim 33 , wherein a second discontinuous portion of the three discontinuous portions is located on a rightmost top, a rightmost side, and a rightmost bottom of the first side.

35 . The roll of adhesive labels of claim 34 , wherein a third discontinuous portion of the three discontinuous portions is located in a center of the first side and is located between the first discontinuous portion of the three discontinuous portions and the second discontinuous portion of the three discontinuous portions.

36 . The roll of adhesive labels of claim 35 , wherein third discontinuous portion of the three discontinuous portions is located in a void center of the void region.

37 . The roll of adhesive labels of claim 36 , wherein the void region extends from a top-center of the first side to a top of the third discontinuous portion of the three discontinuous portions and the void region extends from a bottom-center of the first side to a bottom of the third discontinuous portion of the three discontinuous portions.

         38 . A label, comprising:
a substrate; three discontinuous adhesive regions located on a first side of the substrate, each of the three discontinuous adhesive regions comprising an adhesive; a continuous void region that separates each of the three discontinuous adhesive regions on the first side, wherein the continuous void region is devoid of any of the adhesive; and a print layer on a second side of the substrate.

39 . The label of claim 38 , wherein the continuous void region surrounds a first of the three discontinuous adhesive regions.

40 . The label of claim 39 , wherein the first of the three discontinuous adhesive regions is located in a center of the first side.
