Abstract

Disclosed are a method and/or system for determining a suggested change in a recommended therapy for a patient based, at least in part, on sensor measurements, and generating an alert to an attendant in a hospital environment upon detection of the suggested change. In another embodiment, a method and/or system is directed to automatically determining a maximum interval to alert an attendant following receipt of a measurement at an operator interface. In yet another embodiment, a method and/or system is directed to blood-glucose sensor calibration.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A system for monitoring glucose levels of a patient, the system comprising:
one or more processors; and one or more processor-readable storage media storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause performance of:
 receiving a signal representative of a glucose level of the patient;
detecting, based on the signal, one or more conditions relating to the glucose level of the patient; and
in response to detecting the one or more conditions, generating an alert message to be communicated to a mobile device of a caretaker.

22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions include a forecasted glucose level exceeding a predetermined threshold.

23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a limit of a target glucose range.

24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a hypoglycemic warning limit.

25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a hyperglycemic warning limit.

26 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more processor-readable storage media further store instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause performance of extrapolating a glucose value based on the signal.

27 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the signal is generated by a telemetered characteristic monitor.

28 . A method of monitoring glucose levels of a patient, the method comprising:
receiving a signal representative of a glucose level of the patient; detecting, based on the signal, one or more conditions relating to the glucose level of the patient; and in response to detecting the one or more conditions, generating an alert message to be communicated to a mobile device of a caretaker.

29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the one or more conditions include a forecasted glucose level exceeding a predetermined threshold.

30 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a limit of a target glucose range.

31 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a hypoglycemic warning limit.

32 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a hyperglycemic warning limit.

33 . The method of claim 28 , further comprising:
extrapolating a glucose value based on the signal.

34 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the signal is generated by a telemetered characteristic monitor.

35 . One or more non-transitory processor-readable storage media storing instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause performance of:
receiving a signal representative of a glucose level of a patient; detecting, based on the signal, one or more conditions relating to the glucose level of the patient; and in response to detecting the one or more conditions, generating an alert message to be communicated to a mobile device of a caretaker.

36 . The one or more non-transitory processor-readable storage media of claim 35 , wherein the one or more conditions include a forecasted glucose level exceeding a predetermined threshold.

37 . The one or more non-transitory processor-readable storage media of claim 35 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a limit of a target glucose range.

38 . The one or more non-transitory processor-readable storage media of claim 35 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a hypoglycemic warning limit.

39 . The one or more non-transitory processor-readable storage media of claim 35 , wherein the one or more conditions include the glucose level approaching a hyperglycemic warning limit.

40 . The one or more non-transitory processor-readable storage media of claim 35 , further storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause performance of extrapolating a glucose value based on the signal.
