Abstract

Systems and methods for sharing information from a first user account to a second user account selectively and seamlessly. The systems and methods can be implemented by server(s) that analyze electronic transactions between the first user account and the second user account to determine appropriate queries for the accounts for sharing information. Such queries can include queries for file permissions. Also, the server(s) can generate sharing instructions according to results of the queries. The server(s) can also select electronic content items for sharing according to the generated sharing instructions. And, the server(s) can direct storage of a copy of the selected electronic content items of the first user account into a data structure of the second user account, such that access by the second user account to the selected items from the first account is as seamless as accessing electronic content items originated by the second user account.

Claims

1 - 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A method, comprising:
 identifying, by a server computer, a first user account and a second user account as candidates for sharing electronic content items, the identifying comprising analyzing a number of transactions between the first user account and the second user account; generating, by the server computer, sharing instructions; directing, by the server computer and in accordance with the sharing instructions, a selection of a number of electronic content items from the first user account according to the generated sharing instruction; and causing, by the server computer, a copy of each selected electronic content item to be stored in a second data structure comprising a number of second electronic content items of the second user account, each copied electronic content item for access by the second user account via the second data structure.

         22 . The method of claim 21 , the number of transactions comprising at least one type of transaction.

         23 . The method of claim 21 , the first user account and the second user account are associated with the same user or different users.

         24 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the server computer, permission from the first user to share content with the second user prior to causing the copy of the number of selected electronic items to be stored in the second data structure.

         25 . The method of claim 24 , the received permission comprising an indication of information types to be shared with the second user.

         26 . The method of claim 25 , the received indication of information types to be shared with the second user being used in generating the sharing instructions.

         27 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the server computer, permission from the second user prior to causing the copy of the number of selected electronic items to be stored in the second data structure.

         28 . The method of claim 27 , the received permission comprising an indication of information types to be received by the second user.

         29 . The method of claim 28 , the received indication of information types to be received by the second user being used in generating the sharing instructions.

         30 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
 controlling, by the server computer, access to the copy of a selected electronic content item stored in the second data structure.

         31 . The method of claim 30 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the server computer, access control information; and using, by the server computer, the access control information in controlling access to the copy of the selected electronic content item in the second data structure.

         32 . The method of claim 31 , controlling access further comprising:
 using the access control information to control the first user account's access to the copy of the selected electronic content item stored in the second data structure.

         33 . The method of claim 31 , controlling access further comprising:
 using the access control information to control the second user account's access to the copy of the selected electronic content item stored in the second data structure.

         34 . The method of claim 31 , the access control information comprising information indicating removal of the copy of the selected electronic content item from the second data structure.

         35 . The method of claim 31 , the access control parameter information comprising update privileges in connection with the copy of the selected electronic content item stored in the second data structure.

         36 . The method of claim 35 , the update privileges specifying synchronized update of the copy of the selected electronic content item stored in the second data structure.

         37 . The method of claim 31 , the access control information comprising read privileges in connection with the copy of the selected electronic content item stored in the second data structure.

         38 . The method of claim 31 , the access control information is received from the first user account.

         39 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium tangibly encoded with computer-executable instructions that when executed by a processor associated with a computing device perform a method comprising:
 identifying a first user account and a second user account as candidates for sharing electronic content items, the identifying comprising analyzing a number of transactions between the first user account and the second user account; generating sharing instructions; directing, in accordance with the sharing instructions, a selection of a number of electronic content items from the first user account according to the generated sharing instruction; and causing a copy of each selected electronic content item to be stored in a second data structure comprising a number of second electronic content items of the second user account, each copied electronic content item for access by the second user account via the second data structure.

         40 . A computing device comprising:
 a processor; a non-transitory storage medium for tangibly storing thereon program logic for execution by the processor, the program logic comprising:
 identifying logic executed by the processor for identifying a first user account and a second user account as candidates for sharing electronic content items, the identifying comprising analyzing a number of transactions between the first user account and the second user account;
 generating logic executed by the processor for generating sharing instructions;
 directing logic executed by the processor for directing, in accordance with the sharing instructions, a selection of a number of electronic content items from the first user account according to the generated sharing instruction; and
