Abstract
A piece of apparel comprises a hooded garment, a cap having a front, and a securing system associated with the hood of the hooded garment. The securing system comprises a band that contacts the front of the cap and secures the cap to a wearer's head when the hood is up and that secures the cap within the hood with the hood is down. The band extends from one side of the interior of the hood, across the front of the cap and to the other side of the interior of the hood. The band can comprise an elastic portion so that the band compresses the front of the cap when in use.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An apparel system comprising:
a hooded garment that includes a hood attached thereto, the hood including a tunnel, the tunnel having:
two front openings on two front sides of the hood; and
at least one back opening on a back of the hood;
a cap adapted to be worn over a wearer's head and under the hood when the hood is up; a cord configured to be slideably secured in the tunnel, wherein:
a portion of the cord lies outside the tunnel through the two front openings and is configured to be positioned against a front of the cap when the hood is up; and
two ends of the cord exit the tunnel through the at least one back opening; and
at least one adjustable clip attached to the cord adjacent the two ends, the at least one adjustable clip configured to enable tightening of the cord around the wearer's head, so that the portion of the cord urges against the front of the cap over the wearer's forehead.
2 . The apparel system of claim 1 wherein the hood has at least one hole adjacent the at least one back opening of the tunnel so as to allow the two ends of the cord to pass therethrough, and wherein the at least one adjustable clip lies outside the hood adjacent the at least one hole.
3 . The apparel system of claim 1 wherein the cord is elastic.
4 . The apparel system of claim 1 wherein the two front openings of the tunnel are positioned adjacent the wearer's temples when the hood is up.
5 . The apparel system of claim 4 wherein the cap has a front bill, and the portion of the cord is configured to be positioned adjacent and above the front bill.
6 . The apparel system of claim 1 wherein the cap has one or more holes on the front thereof configured to allow the portion of the cord to slide therethrough, thereby preventing the cap from being separated from the hood.
7 . The apparel system of claim 6 wherein the one or more holes comprise two holes position in a front of the cap adjacent the wearer's temples.
8 . The apparel system of claim 1 wherein the at least one adjustable clip comprises two adjustable clips, each adjustable clip being attached to a respective end of the cord.
9 . The apparel system of claim 1 wherein the at least one adjustable clip comprises a spring-loaded clip.
10 . An apparel system comprising:
a hooded garment that includes a hood attached thereto, the hood including:
two front holes on two front sides of the hood; and
at least one back hole on a back of the hood;
a cap adapted to be worn over a wearer's head and under the hood when the hood is up; a cord configured to be movably attached to the hood through the two front holes, wherein:
a portion of the cord lies outside the hood between the two front holes and is configured to be positioned against a front of the cap when the hood is up; and
two ends of the cord exit the hood through the at least one back hole; and
at least one adjustable clip attached to the cord adjacent the two ends, the at least one adjustable clip configured to enable tightening of the cord around the wearer's head, so that the portion of the cord urges against the front of the cap over the wearer's forehead.
11 . The apparel system of claim 10 wherein the two front holes are adjacent the wearer's temples when the hood is up.
12 . The apparel system of claim 10 wherein the cap has a front bill, and the portion of the cord is configured to be positioned adjacent and above the front bill.
13 . The apparel system of claim 10 wherein the cap has one or more holes on the front thereof configured to allow the portion of the cord to slide therethrough, thereby preventing the cap from being separated from the hood.
14 . The apparel system of claim 10 wherein the at least one adjustable clip comprises a spring-loaded clip.
15 . A cap comprising:
a crown part configured to fit over a wearer's head and including one or more holes disposed on a circumference of the crown part; a cord configured to be movably attached to the crown part through the one or more holes; and at least one adjustable clip attached to the cord adjacent two ends of the cord, the at least one adjustable clip configured to enable tightening of the cord around a circumference of a wearer's head, so that a portion of the cord urges against a portion of the crown part.
16 . The cap of claim 15 further comprising a front bill, wherein the one or more holes comprise a first hole and a second hole positioned adjacent either side of the front bill.
17 . The cap of claim 16 wherein the one or more holes comprise a third hole positioned on a back of the crown part.
18 . The cap of claim 17 wherein the two ends of the cord exit the crown part through the third hole, and when the cord is tightened, the at least one adjustable clip urges against the third hole.
19 . The cap of claim 15 wherein the at least one adjustable clip comprises a spring-loaded clip.
20 . The cap of claim 15 wherein the at least one adjustable clip comprises two adjustable clips, each adjustable clip being attached to a respective end of the cord.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
