Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A method comprising:
displaying, with a display of a wearable electronic device (WED) worn on a head of a listener, a graphical representation that when activated plays binaural sound to the listener and that has a body with an indication informing the listener that sound from the graphical representation will play as the binaural sound.

22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the indication shows a location where the binaural sound will externally localize with respect to the head of the listener when the listener activates the graphical representation.

23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the indication visually informs the listener to wear headphones or earphones so the listener knows in advance that the sound from the graphical representation will externally localize as the binaural sound.

24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the indication includes the term “3D” so the listener knows in advance that the sound from the graphical representation will externally localize as the binaural sound.

25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the indication includes an arrow pointing to a location where the binaural sound will externally localize to the listener.

26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the indication includes a picture of a pair of headphones informing the listener to wear headphones or earphones.

27 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the graphical representation includes a head, and the indication shows where the binaural sound will externally localize with respect to the head of the listener.

28 . A wearable electronic device (WED) worn on a head of a listener, the WED comprising:
a display that displays a graphical representation that when activated plays binaural sound to the listener, wherein the graphical representation includes an indication informing the listener that sound from the graphical representation will play as the binaural sound.

29 . The WED of claim 28 , wherein the graphical representation is one of an emoji and an animoji.

30 . The WED of claim 28 , wherein the indication includes one of “3D” or “spatial” so the listener knows in advance that the sound associated with the graphical representation will externally localize outside the head of the listener as the binaural sound.

31 . The WED of claim 28 , wherein the graphical representation includes a face of an animated person or a face of an animated animal.

32 . The WED of claim 28 , wherein the binaural sound automatically plays when the graphical representation is activated with a click.

33 . The WED of claim 28 , wherein the graphical representation is a three-dimensional (3D) virtual image that plays a voice in the binaural sound.

34 . The WED of claim 28 , wherein the graphical representation is a talking animation.

35 . The WED of claim 28 , wherein the WED receives the graphical representation from a user during an electronic communication between the user and the listener.

         36 . A method comprising:
receiving, at a portable electronic device (PED) of a listener, a graphical representation from a user during an electronic communication between the listener and the user; and displaying, on a display of the PED, the graphical representation that when activated plays binaural sound to the listener and that includes an indication notifying the listener that sound from the graphical representation will play as the binaural sound.

37 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the graphical representation is one of an augmented reality (AR) image or a virtual reality (VR) image.

38 . The method of claim 36 further comprising:
playing, with the PED, the binaural sound to the listener in response to receiving a click at the graphical representation.

39 . The method of claim 36 further comprising:
displaying, with the PED, instructions that inform the listener to wear headphones or earphones to listen to the binaural sound from the graphical representation.

40 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the indication includes text that instructs the listener that the sound will play as the binaural sound.
