Abstract

A modular plant growth apparatus for large-scale commercial and residential uses having a housing with a top portion which is a flat panel, a bottom portion and two sides, each side having several hinges which can hingedly connect to a corresponding side of another flat panel, the top portion having a front side with removable plant wells, the bottom portion being angled to act as a stability support portion. The apparatus also including a light source. Several housings can be hingedly connected to corresponding other housings so various modular configurations can be formed so as to maximize plant growth.

1 . A modular plant growth apparatus comprising:
 a housing having a top portion which is a flat panel, a bottom portion and two sides, each side having one or more connection devices which interconnect corresponding sides of other flat panels, the top portion having a front side with plant wells, the bottom portion being angled to act as a stability support portion, flat panel having a lower portion which can interlock with bottom portion;   a moveable light source; and   at least one plant in at least some of the plant wells;   
       wherein several housings are connected to corresponding other housings so the various modular configurations can be formed so as to maximize plant growth. 
     
     
         2 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the housing has a series of tubes and connections which transport water via a closed tube system throughout the housing and to each plant well and the bottom portion is a water reservoir. 
     
     
         3 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 2  wherein water is pumped to the top portion and allowed to disburse downward to the plant wells. 
     
     
         4 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the housings can be configured in large or small polygons or in large rows. 
     
     
         5 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the bottom portion being a water reservoir connected to the series of tubes for watering of the plants in the plant wells. 
     
     
         6 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the light source can be moved in an upward or downward direction relative to the housing, such light source being located within a central region of a series of connected housings. 
     
     
         7 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the light source is located in front of the flat panel. 
     
     
         8 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  further including a wheel assembly connected to an underside of the bottom portion. 
     
     
         9 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the plant wells can be cylindrical, oval or any other shape which optimizes plant growth. 
     
     
         10 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the plant wells are removable from the flat panel for easy maintenance and cleaning. 
     
     
         11 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the light source is more than one type of light source, the light sources are controlled by a micro-controller to transition or make more specific the ideal wavelengths of light reaching the plants. 
     
     
         12 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the connection device is a hinge. 
     
     
         13 . A modular plant growth apparatus comprising:
 a housing having a top portion which is a flat panel, a bottom portion and two sides, each side having one or more connection devices which interconnect corresponding sides of other flat panels, the top portion having a front side with plant wells;   a light source; and   at least one plant in at least some of the plant wells;   
       wherein the housing is adaptable to use for residential uses so as to maximize plant growth. 
     
     
         14 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 13  wherein the housing has a series of tubes and connections which transport water via a closed tube system throughout the housing and to each plant well. 
     
     
         15 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 14  wherein water is pumped to the top portion and allowed to disburse downward to the plant wells. 
     
     
         16 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 13  wherein the bottom portion being a water reservoir connected to the series of tubes for watering of the plants in the plant wells. 
     
     
         17 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 13  wherein the light source can be moved in an upward or downward direction relative to the housing and is located in front of the flat panel. 
     
     
         18 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 13  wherein the plant wells can be cylindrical, oval or any other shape which optimizes plant growth. 
     
     
         19 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 13  wherein the plane wells are removable for easy maintenance and cleaning. 
     
     
         20 . The plant growth apparatus of  claim 13  wherein the connection device is a hinge.
