Abstract

In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a method for crowdfunding credit card payments. The method can include: analyzing a plurality of credit card accounts to determine a first account that is eligible for crowdfunding; transmitting a notification to a user device associated with an account holder of the first account, the notification prompting the account holder to authorize enabling receipt of crowdfunded payments for the first account; receiving, from the user device, authorization to enable receipt of crowdfund payments for the first account; providing, to one or more donors, electronic access to recent transaction information for the first account; receiving a payment from a first one of the donors; and applying the payment to the first account.

1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
 identifying, by a computing system, a donor to contribute to a crowdfunded payment for a user account;   generating, by the computing system, a unique secure uniform resource locator (URL) for the donor that allows the donor to access information associated with the user account;   receiving, by the computing system from a computing device associated with the donor, a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) request based on the unique secure URL generated for the donor;   authenticating, by the computing system, the donor based on the HTTP request;   responsive to authenticating the donor, providing, to the donor, a user interface allowing the donor to view account information associated with the user account via the user interface;   receiving, by the computing system from the computing device, a request to make a payment that contributes to an outstanding balance on the user account;   applying, by the computing system, the payment to the user account; and   updating, by the computing system, the user interface to visually illustrate that payment has been received.   
     
     
         2 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein the user interface further comprises a set of transactions that are eligible for crowdfunded payments. 
     
     
         3 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 2 , wherein receiving, by the computing system from the computing device, the request to make the payment that contributes to the outstanding balance on the user account, comprises:
 receiving a selection of a transaction in the set of transaction for which the payment is to be applied.   
     
     
         4 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 2 , wherein the set of transactions provided in the user interface to the donor are specific to the donor. 
     
     
         5 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 4 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the computing system from a second computing device associated with a second donor, a second HTTP request based on a second secure URL generated for the second donor;   authenticating, by the computing system, the second donor based on the second HTTP request; and   responsive to authenticating the second donor, providing, to the second donor, a second user interface allowing the second donor to view a second set of transactions associated with the user account, the second set of transactions distinct from the set of transaction.   
     
     
         6 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 2 , wherein the user account comprises permission controls defining what transactions and parameters associated with the set of transactions transactions are visible to potential donors. 
     
     
         7 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 polling, by the computing system, a sever to determine whether the user account is eligible for the crowdfunded payment.   
     
     
         8 . A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations comprising:
 receiving, by a computing system, a request from a donor to contribute to a crowdfunded payment for a user account;   responsive to the request, generating, by the computing system, a unique secure uniform resource locator (URL) for the donor that allows the donor to access information associated with the user account;   receiving, by the computing system from a computing device associated with the donor, a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) request based on the unique secure URL generated for the donor;   authenticating, by the computing system, the donor based on the HTTP request;   responsive to authenticating the donor, providing, to the donor, a user interface allowing the donor to view account information associated with the user account via the user interface;   receiving, by the computing system from the computing device, a request to make a payment that contributes to an outstanding balance on the user account;   applying, by the computing system, the payment to the user account; and   updating, by the computing system, the user interface to visually illustrate that payment has been received.   
     
     
         9 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 8 , wherein the user interface further comprises a set of transactions that are eligible for crowdfunded payments. 
     
     
         10 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 9 , wherein receiving, by the computing system from the computing device, the request to make the payment that contributes to the outstanding balance on the user account, comprises:
 receiving a selection of a transaction in the set of transaction for which the payment is to be applied.   
     
     
         11 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 9 , wherein the set of transactions provided in the user interface to the donor are specific to the donor. 
     
     
         12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the computing system from a second computing device associated with a second donor, a second HTTP request based on a second secure URL generated for the second donor;   authenticating, by the computing system, the second donor based on the second HTTP request; and   responsive to authenticating the second donor, providing, to the second donor, a second user interface allowing the second donor to view a second set of transactions associated with the user account, the second set of transactions distinct from the set of transaction.   
     
     
         13 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 9 , wherein the user account comprises permission controls defining what transactions and parameters associated with the set of transactions are visible to potential donors. 
     
     
         14 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 8 , further comprising:
 polling, by the computing system, a sever to determine whether the user account is eligible for the crowdfunded payment.   
     
     
         15 . A system, comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory having programming instructions stored thereon, which, when executed by the processor, performs operations comprising:
 identifying a donor to contribute to a crowdfunded payment for a user account; 
 generating a unique secure uniform resource locator (URL) for the donor that allows the donor to access information associated with the user account; 
 receiving, from a computing device associated with the donor, a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) request based on the unique secure URL generated for the donor; 
 authenticating the donor based on the HTTP request; 
 responsive to authenticating the donor, providing, to the donor, a user interface allowing the donor to view account information associated with the user account via the user interface; 
 receiving, from the computing device, a request to make a payment that contributes to an outstanding balance on the user account; 
 applying the payment to the user account; and 
 updating the user interface to visually illustrate that payment has been received. 
   
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the user interface further comprises a set of transactions that are eligible for crowdfunded payments. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 16 , wherein receiving, from the computing device, the request to make the payment that contributes to the outstanding balance on the user account, comprises:
 receiving a selection of a transaction in the set of transaction for which the payment is to be applied.   
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 16 , wherein the set of transactions provided in the user interface to the donor are specific to the donor. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 18 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 receiving, from a second computing device associated with a second donor, a second HTTP request based on a second secure URL generated for the second donor;   authenticating the second donor based on the second HTTP request; and   responsive to authenticating the second donor, providing, to the second donor, a second user interface allowing the second donor to view a second set of transactions associated with the user account, the second set of transactions distinct from the set of transaction.   
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 polling a sever to determine whether the user account is eligible for the crowdfunded payment.
