Abstract
A data warehouse storing databases for a plurality of users, including service providers hosting data for other users of the data warehouse may implement a data exchange. The data warehouse to verify identity of users and execute instructions with respect to databases of the data warehouse.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
providing a data warehouse executing on a cloud computing platform, the data warehouse managing a plurality of databases, each database of the plurality of databases having an owner, the data warehouse implementing access controls for the owner of each database of the plurality of database; creating, by one or more processors, a first listing in an exchange, the first listing created by a first user account that is the owner of a first database of the plurality of databases, and the listing referencing the first database and specifying private identity-based sharing of the first database; creating a reference database comprising a relational database view referencing data in the first database; and adding, by a second user account, the first listing to a set of consumed data shares accessible by the second user account by adding a reference to the reference database to the set of consumed data shares accessible by the second user account, wherein queries from the second user account are processed using the reference database.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
performing a database operation including joining the first database with a second database to obtain a result.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
creating a second listing in the exchange, the second listing referencing the result.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the database operation further includes joining the first database and the second database to one or more additional databases.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the database operation further includes performing an aggregation with respect to any of the first database, the second database, and the result.
6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the database operation further includes performing an analysis with respect to any of the first database, the second database, and the result.
7 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising providing the result to one or more of a plurality of user accounts.
8 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising providing the second listing to one or more of a plurality of user accounts.
9 . A system, comprising:
a memory; and one or more processors operatively coupled to the memory, the one or more processors to:
execute on a cloud computing platform, a data warehouse managing a plurality of databases, each database of the plurality of databases having an owner, the data warehouse implementing access controls for the owner of each database of the plurality of database;
create, by a first user account that is the owner of a first database of the plurality of databases, a first listing in an exchange, the listing referencing the first database and specifying private identity-based sharing of the first database;
create a reference database comprising a relational database view referencing data in the first database; and
add, by a second user account, the first listing to a set of consumed data shares accessible by the second user account by adding a reference to the reference database to the set of consumed data shares accessible by the second user account, wherein queries from the second user account are processed using the reference database.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the one or more processors are further to:
perform a database operation including joining the first database with a second database to obtain a result.
11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the one or more processors are further to:
create a second listing in the exchange, the second listing referencing the result.
12 . The system of claim 10 , wherein to perform the database operation, the one or more processors are further to join the first database and the second database to one or more additional databases.
13 . The system of claim 10 , wherein to perform the database operation, the one or more processors are further to perform an aggregation with respect to any of the first database, the second database, and the result.
14 . The system of claim 10 , wherein to perform the database operation, the one or more processors are further to perform an analysis with respect to any of the first database, the second database, and the result.
15 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the one or more processors are further to provide the result to one or more of a plurality of user accounts.
16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further to provide the second listing to one or more of a plurality of user accounts.
17 . A non-transitory computer-readable media having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
provide a data warehouse that executes a cloud computing platform and manages a plurality of databases and implements access controls for each owner of each database of the plurality of databases; create, by the one or more processors, a first listing in an exchange using a first user account that is the owner of a first database of the plurality of databases, the listing referencing the first database and specifying private identity-based sharing of the first database; create a reference database comprising a relational database view referencing data in the first database; and add, by a second user account, the first listing to a set of consumed data shares accessible by the second user account by adding a reference to the reference database to the set of consumed data shares accessible by the second user account, wherein queries from the second user account are processed using the reference database.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 17 , wherein the one or more processors are further to:
perform a database operation including joining the first database with a second database to obtain a result.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are further to:
create a second listing in the exchange, the second listing referencing the result.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 18 , wherein to perform the database operation, the one or more processors are further to join the first database and the second database to one or more additional databases.
21 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 18 , wherein to perform the database operation, the one or more processors are further to perform an aggregation with respect to any of the first database, the second database, and the result.
22 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 18 , wherein to perform the database operation, the one or more processors are further to perform an analysis with respect to any of the first database, the second database, and the result.
23 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are further to provide the result to one or more of a plurality of user accounts.
24 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the one or more processors are further to provide the second listing to one or more of a plurality of user accounts.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
