Abstract
A system for adding, removing, or adding and removing thermal energy from a room is disclosed, including a channel layer with a first and a second outer surface and a plurality of adjoined waterproof channels which allow a fluid to pass through. The invention also includes a first heat exchanging device which puts the fluid in thermal communication with a refrigerant and second heat exchanging device which puts the refrigerant in thermal communication with an exchange medium.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A system for adding, removing, or both adding and removing thermal energy from a room comprising;
a channel layer comprising a first and a second outer surface, and a plurality of adjoined waterproof channels disposed therebetween, each channel configured to allow a fluid to pass through, and wherein, the channel layer is in thermal communication with a room; a first heat exchanging device configured to put the fluid in thermal communication with a refrigerant; a second heat exchanging device configured to put the refrigerant in thermal communication with an exchange medium;
2 . The invention of claim 1 wherein the exchange medium is not in communication with the ambient air of a room in which the channel layer is installed.
3 . The invention of claim 1 wherein the exchange medium is ambient air external to a building housing the channel layer.
4 . The invention of claim 1 wherein the first heat exchanging device is a condenser.
5 . The invention of claim 1 wherein the exchange medium is subterranean earth.
6 . The invention of claim 1 further comprising a third heat exchanging device configured to transfer energy between the exchange medium and a second exchange medium.
7 . The invention of claim 6 wherein the second exchange medium is subterranean earth.
8 . The invention of claim 1 wherein the channel layer is installed in a wall panel, wherein radiant area of the wall panel is greater than 80% of the total area of the wall panel.
9 . The invention of claim 9 wherein the radiant area of the wall panel is greater than 50% of the total area of the wall on which the wall panel is placed.
10 . A radiant heat exchange system comprising:
a closed loop system of tubular vessels comprising;
a radiant panel configured to radiatively transfer energy between a fluid and a room wherein the radiant panel comprises an array of contiguous channels;
a heat exchange portion configured to transfer energy between the fluid and a refrigerant;
a pump configured to circulate fluid through the closed loop system.
11 . The invention of claim 11 wherein the refrigerant transfers energy with subterranean earth.
12 . The invention of claim 11 wherein a radiant area of the radiant panel is greater than 50% of the wall on which it is installed.
13 . The invention of claim 11 wherein the heat exchange medium is external to the building in which the radiant panel is installed.
14 . The invention of claim 11 further comprising a fan configured to blow air over the radiant panel.
15 . The invention of claim 15 further comprising a gap between the radiant panel and a wall, wherein the fan is configured to blow air through the gap.
16 . The invention of claim 11 further comprising a decorative layer configured to cover the radiant panel.
17 . The invention of claim 11 wherein the fluid comprises glycol and water.
18 . The invention of claim 11 wherein the radiant panel comprises extruded plastic.
19 . A thermal exchange system for radiatively heating, cooling, or heating and cooling a room comprising:
a heating mode and a cooling mode; a channel layer in thermal communication with a room comprising a first and a second outer surface, and a plurality of adjoined parallel waterproof channels disposed therebetween, each channel configured to allow a fluid to pass through; a compressor; a first heat exchange device configured to be an evaporator when the system is in cooling mode or a condenser when the system is in heating mode; a second heat exchange device configured to be a condenser when the system is in cooling mode or an evaporator when the system is in heating mode; a reversing valve; and; wherein the first heat exchanging device is in thermal communication with the fluid of the channel layer and the second heat exchanging device is in thermal communication with an exchange medium.
20 . The invention of claim 19 wherein the exchange medium is outside air.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
