Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an extendable shower control device that comprises: a tube structure having a first inlet tube, a second inlet tube and an outlet tube; a mixing valve having mixing chamber in fluid communication with the outlet tube, as well as at least one of the first inlet tube and second inlet tube; a switching valve suitable for control the switching on/off of the outlet tube; a mounting disc provided to be spaced apart from the tube structure; and a transferring and adjusting mechanism which is mounted between the switching valve and the mounting disc in such a manner that the length of the mechanism is adjustable, and is able to operate the switching valve under an external force. The shower control device can be selectively configured in a wall in either a shallow or reduced installation state, or a deep or extended installation state.

1 . An extendable shower control assembly, comprising:
 a housing assembly that includes an outer surface;   a water receiving body that includes an outlet and a rearmost extent;   a switching valve configured to control water flow through the outlet;   an interface assembly that includes a first extending member that is coupled to both the first extending member and the switching valve;   wherein, in a reduced installation state, a first housing distance extends between a forward most extent of the first extending member and an outer surface of the housing; and,   wherein, in an extended installation state, a second housing distance extends between the forward most extent of the first extending member and the outer surface of the housing, the second housing distance exceeding the first housing distance.   
     
     
         2 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 1 , wherein: (i) in the reduced installation state, a first body distance extends between a rearmost extent of the water receiving body and the forward most extent of the first extending member and (ii) in the extended installation state, a second body distance extends between the rearmost extent of the water receiving body and the forward most extent of the first extending member, and wherein the first and second body distances are equal. 
     
     
         3 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising a mixing valve having a spindle, wherein a knob is coupled to the spindle to allow a user to actuate the mixing valve. 
     
     
         4 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 3 , wherein: (i) in the reduced installation state, a first knob distance extends between a forward most extent of the spindle and an outer surface of the knob and (ii) in the extended installation state, a second knob distance extends between the forward most extent of the spindle and the outer surface of the knob, and wherein the first knob distance is less than the second knob distance. 
     
     
         5 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 3 , wherein: (i) in the reduced installation state, a first spindle distance extends between the rearmost extent of the water receiving body and a forward most extent of the spindle and (ii) in the extended installation state, a second spindle distance extends between the rearmost extent of the water receiving body and the forward most extent of the spindle, and wherein the first and second spindle distances are equal. 
     
     
         6 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the interface assembly includes a second extending member that (i) is coupled to an extent of the housing assembly and (ii) surrounds at least an extent of the first extending member. 
     
     
         7 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the extent of the housing assembly that the second extending member is coupled to is a button that can be depressed to change the operational mode of the switching valve. 
     
     
         8 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 6 , wherein: (i) in the reduced installation state, there is an overlap between an extent of the switching valve and the second extending member and (ii) in the extended installed state, there is no overlap between the switching valve and the second extending member. 
     
     
         9 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 6 , wherein, in both the reduced installation state and the extended installation state, an extent of the second extending member is positioned outside of the outmost extent of a wall of the structure and within the housing. 
     
     
         10 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 6 , wherein first extending member is coupled to the second extending member using cooperatively dimensioned threads, and said cooperatively dimensioned threads are configured to allow an installer to alter the distance between the forward most extent of the first extending member and the outer surface of the housing to match the configuration of the installation. 
     
     
         11 . An extendable shower control assembly that can be selectively configured in either a shallow installation state or a deep installation state, comprising:
 a housing assembly that includes an outer surface;   a water receiving body that includes an outlet and a rearmost extent;   a mixing valve having a spindle, wherein a knob is coupled to the spindle to allow a user with the mixing valve;   wherein, in the shallow installation state, (i) a first knob distance extends between a forward most extent of the spindle and an outer surface of the knob and (ii) a first spindle distance extends between the rearmost extent of the water receiving body and a forward most extent of the spindle;   wherein, in the deep installation state, (i) a second knob distance extends between the forward most extent of the spindle and the outer surface of the knob and (ii) a second spindle distance extends between the rearmost extent of the water receiving body and the forward most extent of the spindle; and   wherein: (i) the first knob distance is less than the second knob distance and (ii) the first and second spindle distances are equal.   
     
     
         12 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 11 , wherein:
 a switching valve configured to control water flow through the outlet;   an interface assembly that includes a first extending member that is coupled to both the first extending member and the switching valve;   wherein, in the shallow installation state, a first housing distance extends between a forward most extent of the first extending member and an outer surface of the housing;   wherein, in the deep installation state, a second housing distance extends between the forward most extent of the first extending member and the outer surface of the housing, the first housing distance being less than the second housing distance.   
     
     
         13 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 12 , wherein: (i) in the shallow installation state, a first body distance extends between a rearmost extent of the water receiving body and the forward most extent of the first extending member and (ii) in the deep installation state, a second body distance extends between the rearmost extent of the water receiving body and the forward most extent of the first extending member, and wherein the first and second body distances are equal. 
     
     
         14 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 12 , wherein the interface assembly includes a second extending member that is coupled to an extent of the housing assembly and surround at least an extent of the first extending member. 
     
     
         15 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 14 , wherein the extent of the housing assembly that the second extending member is coupled to is a button, and wherein said button can be depressed to change the operational mode of the switching valve. 
     
     
         16 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 15 , wherein a user may rotate the knob to actuate the mixing valve and move the button moves axially to activate the switching valve. 
     
     
         17 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 14 , wherein: (i) in the shallow installation state, there is an overlap between an extent of the switching valve and the second extending member and (ii) in the deep installation state, there is no overlap between the switching valve and the second extending member. 
     
     
         18 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 14 , wherein, in both the shallow installation state and the deep installation state, an extent of the second extending member is positioned outside of the outmost extent of a wall of the structure and within the housing. 
     
     
         19 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 14 , wherein first extending member is coupled to the second extending member using cooperatively dimensioned threads, and said cooperatively dimensioned threads are configured to allow an installer to alter the distance between the forward most extent of the first extending member and the outer surface of the housing to match the configuration of the installation. 
     
     
         20 . The extendable shower control assembly of  claim 12 , wherein the spindle is positioned within the knob.
