Abstract
Markers of acute myeloid leukemia stem cells (AMLSC) are identified. The markers are differentially expressed in comparison with normal counterpart cells, and are useful as diagnostic and therapeutic targets.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for characterizing an acute myeloid leukemia from a patient, the method comprising:
contacting a patient sample with reagents specific for a differentially expressed marker or combination of markers set forth in Table 1; quantitating the number of marker expressing cancer cells, wherein the presence of marker expressing cancer cells is indicative of the presence of AML stem cells (AMLSC).
