Abstract
In one aspect, method is provided for controlling a display device, comprising: displaying, on a touchscreen display, a first window executing a first application and a second window executing a second application; receiving, at the touchscreen display, a first command input to the first window and a second command input to the second window; determining whether the first command and the second command are received simultaneously; dispatching, by a processor, the first command; and dispatching, by the processor, the second command.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A portable communication device comprising:
a touch screen display; and a processor configured to:
display, via the touch screen display, a first window corresponding to a first application and a second window corresponding to a second application concurrently,
while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed, receive, via the touch screen display, a multi-touch input including a first touch input applied at a first position of the touch screen and a second touch input applied at a second position of the touch screen display, wherein the second position is different from the first position, wherein the first touch input and the second touch input are concurrently applied,
based on both the first position at which the first touch input is applied and the second position at which the second touch input is applied being in the first window, output a first event through the first window according to at least one of a first drag movement of the first touch input or a second drag movement of the second touch input while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed and a size of the first window and a size of the second window are maintained, and
based on the first position at which the first touch input is applied being in the first window and the second position at which the second touch input is applied being in the second window, output a second event, different from the first event, through the first window according to the first drag movement of the first touch input and a third event through the second window according to the second drag movement of the second touch input while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed and the size of the first window and the size of the second window are maintained.
2 . The portable communication device of claim 1 ,
wherein the first drag movement of the first touch input is a movement from the first position to a third position of the touch screen display, and wherein the second drag movement of the second touch input is a movement from the second position to a fourth position of the touch screen display.
3 . The portable communication device of claim 2 ,
wherein the first event is identified based at least on the first drag movement with respect to the second drag movement.
4 . The portable communication device of claim 3 ,
wherein the first drag movement with respect to the second drag movement is identified as a pinch-in gesture.
5 . The portable communication device of claim 1 ,
wherein a first execution screen of the first application is displayed in the first window, wherein the first event includes adjusting a size of an image displayed on the first execution screen.
6 . The portable communication device of claim 1 ,
wherein the third event includes scrolling an object displayed in the second window.
7 . The portable communication device of claim 1 ,
wherein the third event is output through the second window independently of outputting the second event through the first window.
8 . A method of controlling a portable communication device, comprising:
displaying, via a touch screen display of the portable communication device, a first window corresponding to a first application and a second window corresponding to a second application concurrently, while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed, receiving, via the touch screen display, a multi-touch input including a first touch input applied at a first position of the touch screen and a second touch input applied at a second position of the touch screen display, wherein the second position is different from the first position, wherein the first touch input and the second touch input are concurrently applied, based on both the first position at which the first touch input is applied and the second position at which the second touch input is applied being in the first window, outputting a first event through the first window according to at least one of a first drag movement of the first touch input or a second drag movement of the second touch input while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed and a size of the first window and a size of the second window are maintained, and based on the first position at which the first touch input is applied being in the first window and the second position at which the second touch input is applied being in the second window, outputting a second event, different from the first event, through the first window according to the first drag movement of the first touch input and a third event through the second window according to the second drag movement of the second touch input while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed and the size of the first window and the size of the second window are maintained.
9 . The method of claim 8 ,
wherein the first drag movement of the first touch input is a movement from the first position to a third position of the touch screen display, and wherein the second drag movement of the second touch input is a movement from the second position to a fourth position of the touch screen display
10 . The method of claim 9 ,
wherein the first event is identified based at least on the first drag movement with respect to the second drag movement.
11 . The method of claim 8 ,
wherein the first drag movement with respect to the second drag movement is identified as a pinch-in gesture.
12 . The method of claim 8 ,
wherein a first execution screen of the first application is displayed in the first window, wherein the first event includes adjusting a size of an image displayed on the first execution screen.
13 . The method of claim 8 ,
wherein the third event includes scrolling an object displayed in the second window.
14 . The method of claim 8 ,
wherein the third event is output through the second window independently of outputting the second event through the first window.
15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions, wherein the instructions are configured to, when executed, cause a processor to:
display, via a touch screen display, a first window corresponding to a first application and a second window corresponding to a second application concurrently, while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed, receive, via the touch screen display, a multi-touch input including a first touch input applied at a first position of the touch screen and a second touch input applied at a second position of the touch screen display, wherein the second position is different from the first position, wherein the first touch input and the second touch input are concurrently applied, based on both the first position at which the first touch input is applied and the second position at which the second touch input is applied being in the first window, output a first event through the first window according to at least one of a first drag movement of the first touch input or a second drag movement of the second touch input while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed and a size of the first window and a size of the second window are maintained, and based on the first position at which the first touch input is applied being in the first window and the second position at which the second touch input is applied being in the second window, output a second event, different from the first event, through the first window according to the first drag movement of the first touch input and a third event through the second window according to the second drag movement of the second touch input while the first window and the second window are concurrently displayed and the size of the first window and the size of the second window are maintained.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
