Abstract

A system and method for measuring the weight of a user using an scale, the scale having an inflatable pouch with a fluid pressure sensor and a temperature sensor placed therein; a processing circuitry connected to the fluid pressure sensor and the temperature sensor; a communication interface connected to the processing circuitry; wherein the fluid pressure sensor is configured to determine an internal pressure from the fluid pressure sensor, and the temperature sensor is configured to determine an internal temperature within the inflatable pouch; wherein the processing circuitry is configured to calculate a weight of an object placed on the inflatable pouch based on the determined internal pressure and internal temperature; and wherein the processing circuitry is configured to relay the calculated weight of the object to a user device via the communication interface.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon instructions for causing a processing circuitry to perform a process, the process comprising:
 receiving pressure values and temperature values;   analyzing the received pressure values and temperature values to determine if an equilibrium posture has been achieved, wherein the equilibrium posture is determined based on the change of pressure values over a predetermined period of time; and   determining a weight based on the pressure values and temperature values.   
     
     
         2 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the determining a weight further comprises: calculating a plurality of weight values; calculating a final weight value from a mean of the plurality of weight values. 
     
     
         3 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the final weight value is determined based on a plurality of measurements determined during one or more determined equilibrium postures. 
     
     
         4 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the determine if an equilibrium posture has been achieved further comprises:
 determining a local maximum pressure value over a predetermined period of time;   determining a local minimum pressure value over a period of time;   compare the difference of the local maximum pressure value to the local minimum pressure value to a preset threshold, such that if the difference is below the threshold, an equilibrium posture is determined to exist, and if the difference is equal to or above the threshold, the equilibrium posture is determined to not exists.   
     
     
         5 . A method for measuring weight using a scale, comprising:
 receiving pressure values and temperature values;   analyzing the received pressure values and temperature values to determine if an equilibrium posture has been achieved, wherein the equilibrium posture is determined based on the change of pressure values over a predetermined period of time; and   determining a weight value based on the pressure values and temperature values.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the determining a weight further comprises:
 calculating a plurality of weight values; calculating a final weight value from a mean of the plurality of weight values.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the final weight value is determined based on a plurality of measurements determined during one or more determined equilibrium postures. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the determining if an equilibrium posture has been achieved further comprises:
 determining a local maximum pressure value over a predetermined period of time;   determining a local minimum pressure value over a period of time;   comparing the difference of the local maximum pressure value to the local minimum pressure value to a preset threshold, such that if the difference is below the threshold, an equilibrium posture is determined to exist, and if the difference is equal to or above the threshold, the equilibrium posture is determined to not exists.
