Abstract

The spill proof bottle (10) disclosed comprises a container (22) suitable for holding a liquid and a lid (12) adapted to fasten to the container (22). The lid (12) has a base (16), a spinner (14), a twister (32) and a seal (20). The base (16) is configured with a channel (30) and a post (18). The post (18) has at least one outlet (28) for directing liquid out of the container (22). The spinner (14) has slots (62) and the twister (32) has complimentary tabs (60) adapted to convert rotational motion of the spinner(14) to vertical motion of the twister (32). The spinner (14) moves vertically from an open state to a closed state and then to a removable state. The seal (20) is fastened to the twister (32) and is adapted to cap the channel (30) preventing the flow of liquid out of the container (22) when in the closed state.

         1 : A spill proof bottle ( 10 ) comprising:
 a container ( 22 ) suitable for holding a liquid;   a lid ( 12 ) adapted to fasten to the container ( 22 ), the lid ( 12 ) having a base ( 16 ), a spinner ( 14 ), a twister ( 32 ) and a seal ( 20 ),   the base ( 16 ) is configured with a channel ( 30 ) and a post ( 18 ), the post ( 18 ) has at least one outlet ( 28 ) for passsing liquid out of the container ( 22 ), the spinner ( 14 ) has slots ( 62 ) and the twister ( 32 ) has complimentary tabs ( 60 ) adapted to convert rotational motion of the spinner ( 14 ) to vertical motion of the twister ( 32 ), the seal ( 20 ) is fastened to the twister ( 32 ) and is adapted to cap the channel ( 30 ) preventing the flow of liquid out of the spill proof bottle ( 10 ).   
     
     
         2 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 1 , further comprising a handle fixed to the lid ( 12 ). 
     
     
         3 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 1  wherein the twister ( 32 ) has an open state, a closed state and a removeable state. 
     
     
         4 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 1 , wherein the channel ( 30 ) is adapted to receive the twister ( 32 ) and the spinner ( 14 ). 
     
     
         5 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 1 , wherein the seal ( 20 ) is removably fastened to the twister ( 32 ). 
     
     
         6 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 1 , wherein the seal ( 20 ) is permanently fastened to the twister ( 32 ). 
     
     
         7 . A spill proof bottle ( 10 ) comprising:
 A container ( 22 ) suitable for holding liquids, the container ( 22 ) having a sidewall ( 24 ), a neck ( 74 ) adjacent the sidewall ( 24 ), and an opening ( 76 ) defined by the neck ( 74 );   A lid ( 12 ) adapted to fasten to the neck ( 74 ) of the container ( 22 ), the lid ( 12 ) having a base ( 16 ) configured with a channel ( 30 ) and a post ( 18 ), the post ( 18 ) having at least one outlet ( 28 ) for feeding liquid out of the container ( 22 ), a spinner ( 14 ) adapted to sit within the channel ( 30 ) and having an inner wall ( 58 ) with grooves ( 82 ), the spinner ( 14 ) is adapted to rotate, a twister ( 32 ) adapted to sit within the spinner ( 14 ) and having an outer wall ( 56 ) with tenons ( 84 ) fitting within the grooves ( 82 ) of the spinner ( 14 ), the twister ( 32 ) is adapted to move vertically within the spinner ( 14 ), an annular ledge ( 52 ) capping the outer wall ( 56 ), and a seal ( 20 ) fixed to the annular ledge ( 52 ) and adapted to cap the channel ( 30 ) preventing liquid from flowing out of the spill proof bottle ( 10 ).   
     
     
         8 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 7 , wherein the spinner ( 14 ) further comprises a flange ( 50 ) and the twister ( 36 ) further comprises a rail ( 48 ), the flange ( 50 ) and rail ( 48 ) having complimentary beads ( 80 ). 
     
     
         9 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 7 , wherein the channel ( 30 ) is adapted to receive the twister ( 32 ) and the spinner ( 14 ). 
     
     
         10 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 7 , wherein the seal ( 20 ) is removably fastened to the twister ( 32 ). 
     
     
         11 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 7 , wherein the seal ( 20 ) is permanently fastened to the twister ( 32 ). 
     
     
         12 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 7 , wherein the neck ( 74 ) and lid ( 12 ) have complimentary threads ( 70 ,  72 ) adapted to fasten the lid ( 12 ) to the container ( 22 ). 
     
     
         13 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 7 , wherein the post ( 18 ) comprises a plurality of outlets ( 28 ). 
     
     
         14 : A spill proof bottle ( 10 ) comprising:
 A container ( 22 ) suitable for holding liquids, the container ( 22 ) having a sidewall ( 24 ), a neck ( 74 ) adjacent the sidewall ( 24 ), and an opening ( 76 ) defined by the neck ( 74 );   A lid ( 12 ) adapted to fasten to the neck ( 74 ) of the container ( 22 ), the lid ( 12 ) having a base ( 16 ) configured with a channel ( 30 ) and a post ( 18 ), the post ( 18 ) having at least one outlet ( 28 ) for channeling liquid out of the container ( 22 ), a spinner ( 14 ) adapted to sit within the channel ( 30 ) and having an inner wall ( 58 ) with grooves ( 82 ), a twister ( 32 ) adapted to sit within the spinner ( 14 ) and having an outer wall ( 56 ) with tenons ( 84 ) fitting within the grooves ( 82 ) of the spinner ( 14 ), the twister ( 32 ) and spinner ( 14 ) are adapted to rotate and the twister ( 32 ) adapted to move vertically within the spinner ( 14 ), an annular ledge ( 52 ) adjacent the outer wall ( 56 ), and a seal ( 20 ) fixed to the annular ledge ( 56 ) and adapted to cap the channel ( 30 ) preventing liquid from flowing out of the spill proof bottle ( 10 ).   
     
     
         15 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 14 , wherein the post ( 18 ) comprises a plurality of outlets ( 28 ). 
     
     
         16 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 14 , wherein the spinner ( 14 ) further comprises a flange ( 50 ) and the twister ( 32 ) further comprises a rail ( 48 ), the flange ( 50 ) and rail ( 48 ) have complimentary beads ( 80 ). 
     
     
         17 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 14 , wherein the neck ( 74 ) and lid ( 12 ) have complimentary threads ( 70 ,  72 ) adapted to fasten the lid ( 12 ) to the container ( 22 ). 
     
     
         18 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 14 , wherein the seal ( 20 ) is removably fastened to the twister ( 32 ). 
     
     
         19 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 14 , wherein the seal ( 20 ) is permanently fastened to the twister ( 32 ). 
     
     
         20 : The spill proof bottle ( 10 ) of  claim 14 , wherein the post ( 18 ) is seated within the channel ( 30 ).
