System for Preventing Hand Tools from Dropping on the Floor

Abstract

The presentation provides for a system and method that prevents hand tools that are dropped from hitting the floor by utilizing a wrist band and tether attachment arrangement.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A system for preventing hand tools from hitting the floor when dropped, said system comprising:
 a wrist band;   a tether; and   a hand tool fastener constructed and arranged to attach said tether to said hand tool.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1  whereby said tether is dependent on said wrist band. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1  where said wrist band includes a tether housing. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1  including a tether guide connected to and emanating from said tether housing. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 4  where said tether guide has a hollow interior cavity configured to hold said tether and providing a channel for said tether to pass therethrough. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 3  where said tether housing includes a spring for retracting said tether. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1  where said hand tool fastener is connected to said tether with a rapid connect-disconnect mechanism. 
     
     
         7 . A system for preventing a scissor from hitting the floor when dropped, said system consisting essentially of:
 a wristband;   a tether   a housing connected to said wristband, set house including a spring mechanism for retracting said tether;   a tether guide constructed and arranged for set tether to pass therethrough;   a fastener attach to a distal end of said tether, said fastener configured for attachment to a hand tool.
