Abstract
A composition contains silicic acid polycondensate modified with organic groups, as a coating for medicines and foodstuffs or as a component in such a coating. The organic groups are partially or wholly biodegradeable. A method for producing a product coated with the composition and a coated product are further described.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 19 . (canceled)
. A coating composition for a drug or food substrate, the coating composition comprising silicic acid polycondensate modified with organic groups.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein the organic groups are derivatives of at least type of natural or synthetic organic polymer.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein the organic groups are partially or exclusively biodegradable groups.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein the organic groups present are at least partially incorporated into the silicic acid polycondensate via Si—C bonds.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein the coating composition is water-soluble or water-insoluble.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein the coating composition is enteric.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein the silicic acid polycondensate furthermore has organic groups incorporated into the silicic acid polycondensate via Si—C bonds, wherein the organic groups are thermally or photochemically organically polymerizable.
. The coating composition according to claim 26 , wherein the thermally or photochemically organically polymerizable organic groups are epoxy groups.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein at least a portion of the organic groups have a hydrocarbon chain of from 2 to 8 carbon atoms, located between two groups each selected from the group consisting of ether, ester, amide, and urethane groups.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein at least a portion of the organic groups have at least two hydrocarbon chains having 2 to 8 carbon atoms which are branched-chain to one another.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , further comprising at least a portion of inorganic biodegradable groups having a component [O—(CH 2 ) m —C(O)—O] n , where m is an integer between 2 and 8, n is 0, 1, 2, or 3 or greater than 3, and, if said component is present in an organic biodegradable group, may have different values, with a proviso that n in only one or in at least one component is 1 or greater than 1.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , wherein the organic groups are selected from the group consisting of polycaprolactone triol, chitosan, cellulose, cellulose derivatives, and cellulose building blocks.
. The coating composition according to claim 20 , further comprising at least one filler which is pharmaceutically acceptable.
. A method for preparation of a coated product selected from the group consisting of coated medicines and coated foods, which comprises the steps of: applying a coating composition, which contains an organo-modified silicic acid polycondensate, to a drug or food substrate; and (ii) drying and/or curing the coating composition.
. The method according to claim 33 , which comprises prior to the step or after the step an additional step in which the drug or food substrate is at least partially coated with a metal oxide layer.
. The method according to claim 33 , wherein the coating composition contains silicic acid polycondensate modified with organic groups.
. The method according to claim 33 , wherein the coating composition is present in a diluent and/or solvent.
. A coated product produced according to claim 33 .
. A coated product comprising: a drug or food substrate; and a coating composition applied to the substrate, wherein the coating composition contains silicic acid polycondensate modified with organic groups.
. The coated product according to claim 38 , wherein said organic groups are partially or exclusively biodegradable.
. The coated product according to claim 38 , wherein the substrate is partially or completely coated with the coating composition.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
