Abstract

A method for inducing a Ganzfeld experience comprises placing full-field opaque or translucent contact lenses on all functioning eyes of a first person. After allowing a period of time to pass for the Ganzfeld effect to occur, a second person may monitor, question, or counsel the first person. The second person may engage the first person in massage or sensual activity, or may investigate psi phenomenon. The second person may physically control or torture the first person. The second person may perform a medical, ophthalmic, or dental procedure on the first person. The contact lenses may be used as a vehicle to apply a drug or other medicant to the first person's eyes.

I claim: 
     
         1 . The method comprising the steps of:
 a) obtaining two translucent Ganzfeld contact lenses, neither of which lenses comprise any portion of a ping-pong ball;   b) placing one of the Ganzfeld contact lenses on the cornea of one of the eyes of a wearer; and   c) placing the other of the Ganzfeld contact lenses on the cornea of the other of the eyes of the wearer.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , subsequently comprising the step of waiting for a time until the wearer experiences a Ganzfeld effect. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , subsequently comprising the step of counseling the wearer. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein a medicant is applied to at least one of the Ganzfeld contact lenses before the at least one lens is placed on the cornea of the eye of the wearer. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein at least one of the two Ganzfeld contact lenses is translucent and diffuses the light passing through it such that objects in the visual field cannot be clearly seen. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the wearer is one of a human or a non-human animal. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the Ganzfeld contact lenses placed on the cornea of an eye contains a drug that acts upon the eye during the time that the Ganzfeld contact lens is on the cornea of that eye. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising the step of: subsequent to the placement of the Ganzfeld contact lenses on the wearer's eyes, performing a medical, ophthalmic, or dental procedure on the wearer. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1  wherein at least one of the two Ganzfeld contact lenses protects the wearer's cornea while a medical, ophthalmic, or dental procedure is being performed on the wearer after the at least one Ganzfeld contact lens has been placed on the cornea of an eye of the wearer. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising the step of: subsequent to the placement of the two Ganzfeld contact lenses on the wearer's eyes, hypnotizing the wearer. 
     
     
         11 . A means for inducing in a human a Ganzfeld sensory modification, said means comprising at least one Ganzfeld contact lens for placement on the cornea of an eye of a human, the at least one Ganzfeld contact lens being translucent, and wherein the at least one Ganzfeld contact lens is not made from a ping-pong ball nor does it comprise any portion of a ping-pong ball. 
     
     
         12 . The means of  claim 11  further comprising a medicant absorbed within the Ganzfeld contact lens. 
     
     
         13 . The means of  claim 11  further comprising a medicant disposed on the surface of the Ganzfeld contact lens. 
     
     
         14 . The means of  claim 11  wherein the at least one Ganzfeld contact lens is made of at least one of any soft, hard, membrane, gas-permeable contact lens material, and a dissolvable eye shield material. 
     
     
         15 . The means of  claim 11  wherein the at least one Ganzfeld contact lens has a shape that is one of circular, oval, and any suitable shape for creating the Ganzfeld sensory experience in a wearer.
