Abstract

The present invention refers to a pharmaceutical combination for use in glycemic control in diabetes type 2 patients.

1 . A method for improving glycemic control in a patient with type 2 diabetes not adequately controlled by treatment with a glitazone, the method comprising administering to the patient in need thereof a pharmaceutical combination comprising:
 (a) insulin glargine at a dose of 15 U/day to 60 U/day;   (b) lixisenatide at a dose of 10 μg/day to 20 μg/day, and   (c) a glitazone at a dose of 10 mg/day to 60 mg/day.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical combination further comprises: (d) metformin at a dose of 1.0 g/day to 1.5 g/day. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the patient is inadequately controlled by treatment with a combination of glitazone and metformin. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the glitazone is pioglitazone.
