Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A splash guard adapted to be removably mounted in a neck portion of a sink disposer or a drain, said splash guard comprising:
a generally cylindrical sleeve sized to slidably fit into the neck of the disposer and defining a central bore; a ledge affixed to a portion of the sleeve and partially obstructing the central bore; and a chute extending from a portion of the sleeve opposite the ledge and terminating below the ledge.
2 . The splash guard according to claim 1 , wherein the chute curves below the ledge.
3 . The splash guard according to claim 1 , wherein at least one protrusion is provided on an exterior surface of the cylindrical sleeve for removably mounting the splash guard on the neck of the disposer.
4 . The splash guard according to claim 3 , wherein means are provided in the splash guard ledge for pulling the at least one protrusion out of the disposer neck.
5 . The splash guard according to claim 1 , wherein the splash guard forms an upper portion of a two piece drain assembly.
6 . The splash guard according to claim 5 , wherein the chute extends below and to one side of the ledge.
7 . The splash guard according to claim 1 , wherein a cylindrical upper mounting member on the disposer is formed with one or more indents restricting the opening into the splash guard.
8 . The splash guard according to claim 1 , wherein a circular ring is mounted in an upper portion of the cylindrical sleeve to restrict the opening in the splash guard.
9 . The splash guard according to claim 1 , wherein an inwardly extending detente is provided on an upper portion of the cylindrical sleeve in generally diagonal opposition to the ledge.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
