Media file sharing, correlation of metadata related to shared media files and assembling shared media file collections
Abstract
The present invention provides for systems and methods for communicating media files and creating a collection of media files, also referred to herein as a master media file. In addition, the systems and methods of the present invention provide for the creation of automatic metadata and compilation of metadata associated with the collection of media files. The present invention is able to bond devices, referred to herein as slave devices, such as media capture devices, presence devices and/or sensor devices and instruct the slave devices, particularly the media capture devices, to communicate captured media files with a specified set of metadata included.
Claims

at least one processor; and at least one memory including computer program code for one or more programs, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
transmit a presence signal of the apparatus to a master device;
in response to the transmitting of the presence signal, receive from the master device one or more file transfer parameters including, at least in part, one or more intermediary device addresses;
capture one or more sensor information by the apparatus; and
transmit the captured one or more sensor information to an intermediary device based, at least in part, on the received one or more file transfer parameters.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is a sensor device.
3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus transmits the presence signal and receives the one or more file transfer parameters via a short-range wireless network.
4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the sensor information includes, at least in part, temperature data, air pressure data, weather data, altitude data, location information, or a combination thereof.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the one or more file transfer parameters include, at least in part, one or more instructions for creating file metadata.
6 . The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the metadata includes, at least in part, an event associated with the captured sensor information, and a location of the event.

The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the metadata includes, at least in part, a type of the apparatus, one or more technical features of the apparatus, an identification of a user of the apparatus, a title of the captured sensor information, a date or a time of the event, a data or a time of creation of the captured sensor information, identification of one or more individuals attending the event, or a combination thereof.
8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is further caused to:
transmit sharing information indicating instructions on sharing one or more transmitted sensor information between the intermediary device and one or more other apparatuses, wherein the one or more other apparatuses comprises one or more bonded slave devices.
9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is further caused to:
transmit the presence signal for request for bonding the apparatus with the master device based on a bond capability; and receive the one or more file transfer parameters after the bonding.
10 . An method comprising:
transmitting a presence signal of the apparatus to a master device; in response to the transmitting of the presence signal, receive from the master device one or more file transfer parameters including, at least in part, one or more intermediary device addresses; capturing one or more sensor information by the apparatus; and transmitting the captured one or more sensor information to an intermediary device based, at least in part, on the received one or more file transfer parameters.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the apparatus is a sensor device.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the apparatus transmits the presence signal and receives the one or more file transfer parameters via a short-range wireless network.
13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the sensor information includes, at least in part, temperature data, air pressure data, weather data, altitude data, location information, or a combination thereof.
14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the one or more file transfer parameters include, at least in part, one or more instructions for creating file metadata.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the metadata includes, at least in part, an event associated with the captured sensor information, and a location of the event.

The method of claim 14 , wherein the metadata includes, at least in part, a type of the apparatus, one or more technical features of the apparatus, an identification of a user of the apparatus, a title of the captured sensor information, a date or a time of the event, a data or a time of creation of the captured sensor information, identification of one or more individuals attending the event, or a combination thereof.
17 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
transmitting sharing information indicating instructions on sharing one or more transmitted sensor information between the intermediary device and one or more other apparatuses, wherein the one or more other apparatuses comprises one or more bonded slave devices.
18 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
transmitting the presence signal for request for bonding the apparatus with the master device based on a bond capability; and receiving the one or more file transfer parameters after the bonding.
19 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium carrying one or more sequences of one or more instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause an apparatus to at least perform the following steps:
transmitting a presence signal of the apparatus to a master device; in response to the transmitting of the presence signal, receive from the master device one or more file transfer parameters including, at least in part, one or more intermediary device addresses; capturing one or more sensor information by the apparatus; and transmitting the captured one or more sensor information to an intermediary device based, at least in part, on the received one or more file transfer parameters.
